Albaik recently got expensive like 16 riyals, for a very long eriod of time it was of 11 - 12 sar. But in recent times prices of everything is going exponentially high. We used to buy not so long ago chicken of 1000 gm for only 9 riyals now during ramadan here it was above 20 sar.

I tried Al Baik 3 years back when I went to perform Umrah; the quality of it was not on par with how it used to taste and smell back in the days. I lived in Jeddah back in the 80s when it used to be a small shop and it tasted just amazing at that time.

Glad to see that Ma Shaa ALLAH you enjoyed the meal. In Jeddah, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Al-Baik is run by themselves. In other cities, or smaller Express branches are run by Franchises which can be identified by a different style sign boards. On the cheaper side, please try Foul (Vava Beans), Tamees, and Tea which will cost you around 10 Riyals for two people (SAR. 4 for Vava Beans+SAR. 2 for one Tamees bread+SAR. 4 for Two Tea Cups). This is the most commonly traditional breakfast which is availed almost by 80% of people (locals and expects) quite often if not everyday.

It is necessary for one who is doing umrah to do halaq (shaving hair of head) or qasr (shortening hair of head) after tawaf and sa'i. It is not wajib to shave hair, provided there is hair on head longer than one finger knuckle. It is also lawful to cut only equal to the knuckle of finger; however doing halaq is better and if the hairs are shorter than one knuckle of finger then halaq is wajib.

In year 2001 I worked in King Abdulaziz hospital Makka Alzahir. Nearby there was Albaik shop. We use to eat there. Albaik price was 10 SAR at that time.
