I saw your Jeddah Corniche vlog first. I used to write guide books for Saudi Arabia. The whole country is very car centric. When we were there EVERYTHING was closed unless it was opened by request in advance. The Riyadh fort is great, as is the National History Museum. Dirriyah outside the city is the home village/palaces of the Al-Saud. 👍👍 Excellent+1.

Thank you 🙏. We soon realised how car centric Saudi Arabia is. Much like the American model cities. Tough for us pedestrians but thankfully we were helped out by so many very friendly Saudis. 🙏 It's a shame we missed out on Dirriyah. The whole place was under reconstruction when we were there and we couldn't get near it. I hope the renovations retain it's charm. I think they did a fantastic job of the fort. 👍

Thank you for your lovely comment, Immortal Explorer! We really enjoyed our time in Saudi Arabia. I preferred Medina to Riyadh, but I don't think we gave Riyadh enough of a chance... it rained most of the time we were there, and the transport system wasn't great. It will be way better once the metro system is up and running, and I'd definitely return someday! We wish you all the best for your plans to teach there 😁😀 ~ Mandy

I am stuck in a cold wet windy period in NZ and live vicariously through watching your adventures in warm weather places. As a couple, you seem so well suited to each other. Hi Robert. Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you are enjoying our varied videos. The answer to your question is yes we do have difficult times when things don't go to plan and we do naturally fall out under the stress. Often it is making KZfaq videos related too 😂. But we know each other well and always figure out a solution and support each other. It's how you resolve problems is the important thing. Great video, I’d go to Riyadh just for that Fort/museum, sadly I never made it to Riyadh. You’re dead right about the frustrating public transport, even the taxi apps were a pain and taxis would often not turn up or even just cancel on you. It’s a fascinating part of the world and I’m quite hooked on the whole Middle Eastern scene… requires patience but definitely worth it.

A fool like me would have and my family would have found me (if at all) in a garbage dump somewhere. 😂 Glad you tried those crisps/chips made with Tahini and dates. Not a flavor you’d find in many places. 🍽️ Fortress museum looked awesome. 👍🏻 You’re probably seeing the “before” of Riyadh. I’ll wait a few years to see the “after.” 🚅 Do you think many places were closed because it was the wrong day of the week? 🤔 Cheers.

Hello lucchese20. Thank you so much for your lovely comment... it's always great to hear from you! I don't think the substitute taxi drivers were dangerous in themselves, it was more that the driving was so erratic that we'd probably have crashed into another car, and I'd have been carsick from all the smoke from their cigarettes 🤣 With the shops, I think a lot of places might only open at night, but we could never quite work out the opening hours in Saudi Arabia! You're so right in that Riyadh really seems to be working towards becoming more modernised and accessible, but there's still a bit to go yet. In our next Saudi video we go out for the day with our Couchsurfing host, and join in with an extremely popular activity 😀😁 ~ Mandy

((My words are general, not specific to this beautiful channel)). I don't know why most tourists don't have Plan B? For example, when I visited some countries for tourism, I prepared for myself Plan B and Plan C. Usually I don't need to use it. Only once, I had to use it in one of the countries I visited previously. The tourist should know: - Days of the week (work + vacation + Friday and Friday prayers ...) - The times when students go and are in schools, the streets and places are almost empty. If you walk the streets between 6 am to 2 pm, you will probably see that you are the only one walking in the streets + some foreign workers + cars. Knowing the months (Arabic), such as: The month of Ramadan (people's daily routine) differs in the month of Ramadan by 90% from the routine in the rest of the months of the year. - Knowing the best times for each region in Saudi Arabia in order to enjoy the atmosphere. Knowing the dates of entertainment seasons, international and local events and events that are hosted by many cities and regions in Saudi Arabia. There are accounts on Twitter and many websites specialized in everything related to entertainment in Saudi Arabia, and they are very useful for tourists. My advice. You should know this basic information. This information is like (centers). I made it short for you as much as possible in my opinion. I did not touch on some things like Google Maps and others because they are things known to everyone. I wish all visitors and tourists a pleasant stay, an exciting experience and happy memories.

Hello people from down under 😎 Even in Saudi they have unusual crisps. I personally ditched any flavoured crips as most flavours are unnatural / chemical. No matter the country, the bus is still the cheapest travelling option. I like the freedom of driving, but I wouldn't dare to rent a car / drive in an Arabic or Asian country as most I wouldn't be able to read the signs. Thanks for the video, wishing you a lovely weekend 😊

Hi Sergio. Thanks for watching and commenting. Agreed, we aren't keen on hiring cars either.
