Fun Fact: The CEO of SB proudly told a conference of people that the first character she created was Jacob Taylor for Mass Effect 2. You know... the objectively worst character in the entire game. Fear and/or because they've also been infiltrated and taken over from the inside. Companies like SB show up and demand to be part of the process with threats to your company, then entrench their employees at said company as permanent/semi-permanent "consultants" in high-level managerial positions. They go from consulting for your products, to consulting for the people your company should be hiring, allowing them to bring in more of their own to subvert your company from within by replacing the original staff. Once enough of the company has been replaced with their own troops, they hold hostage what few executives that are left and demand they step aside and act as nothing more than figureheads/fall-guys while the infiltrators fully take over everything. Then, when any kind of incriminating things come to light (as is happening now with SB), they use their institutional power over this company as leverage against their detractors to protect their own. It's known as the long march through the institutions.

I think games journos and AAA devs will blow this up to be even bigger than Gamer Gate due to how much more is at stake. In 2014/2015 the only high quality high value games were mostly AAA western games most JRPGs were shovel ware and the big Japanese devs like Capcom and Square frankly sucked but now eastern games have made a come back,indie games are huge and you even have indie MMOs with quality on par with WoW and FF14. So now the idea of the western AAA industry collapsing is a real possibility. If you thought the mud slinging in 2014 was bad I predict this will one thousand times worse. Since now it isn't just a way to get sympathy points they view it as a real threat to their bottom line.

While that is true, I don't think it's gonna reach those heights, or at least they'll try and it will backfire spectacularly, solely because gaming journalism is considered a massive joke nowadays (with VERY good reason), they no longer have as much sway on people as they did back in 2014 and people are already so used to and sick of being labelled -ists and -phobes that their favorite scummy go-to responses lost their edge from them overusing them in the past decade. Very ironic, if you ask me, that the reason they managed to snuff out the first GG is the reason why people are so riled up with this. What I AM concerned with, however, is the grifters, drama queens and bad faith actors that will try to derail discourse and/or try to profit off this legitimate issue. It was one of the big things that explicitly fucked the first GG over, and if not called out correctly, will also hurt the legitimacy of the complaints for SBi and other related incidents. Don't fall for any of the big names trying to make this about themselves, follow SBi and the money trail.

@@TheBatman39I doubt that there is ever going to be a downfall of AAA gaming. Even if individual studios take losses, Blackrock will bail them out and employees in the "in-group" get transferred. If there is a dense network built on monopolies and nepotism, there is no accountability and therefore no free market that could cause a business to fail by choice of the consumer. If there was no such thing as ESG investing whatsoever, the studios would come begging people to buy their new game, but instead all you see is "how dare you criticize instead of consume, peasant?".

Just a bit of extra information to keep in mind. "ESG" is undergoing a rebrand to "Conscientious Capitalism" So at some point in the near future people will say ESG doesn't exist. It does exist, they just changed its name to avoid the stigma

You forgot to mention to use WEB ARCHIVES OF ANY KIND, to keep the incriminating evidence stored forever b4 it disappears. Remember, even during GG era they were trying to take out the archives by hostile take over of the host sites, so make archives with many sites as you can.
