The Hillbilly Kitchen - Down Home Country Cooking

Күн бұрын

Sausage Skillet Casserole One Pot Meal. This is a very simple one pot meal. You can cook it fast in a skillet on a weeknight or pop it in the oven and warm the house up while you enjoy the aroma. This recipe is very budget friendly. You can use any type of sausages that might be on sale at your local grocery store or even use hot dogs.
If you cut your sausage in small pieces you can add more vegetables and fill a whole bunch of empty bellies without taking out a loan. You can add a little cheese and really dress it up. If you have veggies in the fridge that need used up this is a good place for them because most everything and anything can be added to this dish. You can spice it up with a hot pepper, red pepper flakes or your favorite hot spices.
Have fun with this one. Take my Granny’s cooking advice: put your pot on the stove, turn it on and start adding stuff!

A special miracle I would like to share, is of my 1st grandson! My daughter was told when he was less than 3 month old to start making arrangements for his funeral because he wasn't expected to make it through the night! While sitting in the ICU waiting room a man that my wife was talking to earlier, walked up as I just sat there, and placed his hand on my shoulder and said "your grandson is going to be just fine"! He said as we speak, he was being prayed for around the world! The next morning I stood by his little bed, and after being in a coma for 3 days he opened his right eye, then his left! One week later he was home, and is now a healthy 13 year old young man! The Dr that treated him said she had nothing to do with the fact he was still with us. She just pointed upwards and smiled! Praise God's holy name!!

I know that prayer works, at least 4 people in my family have had miraculous cures (1 of a grapefruit sized tumor, there the night before surgery and gone the next morning - Before being cut into. Another, childhood leukemia, just gone overnight). Because I know prayer works, I am asking for prayer for my grandson. He has something (serious) that the Dr's can't find, so I am asking for prayer. He also has Asperger's and is incredibly lonely, I ask for prayer for him here also. He is the most thoughtful, conscientious, loving person. He calls me every day to see if I need something (I don't drive any more), he does anything I ask. He's just a good, sweet young man.

My son is a miracle. He started having seizures when he was 1 and had up to six seizures every single day. They told me that he would never walk or talk like a normal child and never go to school. I can't tell you the nights that I spent on my knees begging God to heal my son. And then one day whenever he was six they just stopped. He still struggles but he walks, he talks, he runs and he graduated high school last year. God is so very good.

I love that stuff and I make it several times a year. Sometimes in the oven, but usually fried on the stove top. My biggest miracle was God saving this wretched old soul who certainly wasn't worthy, at age 51 and made a totally new man in Christ out of me. Check out my KZfaq channel and see what I'm talking about. My second biggest miracle was God saving my life in a very bad car accident caused by a drunk driver. My neck was broken in 3 places, I had spinal cord damage and was paralyzed from the waist down. I was told I would never walk again. I do walk now. I used a walker for 14 years but now I walk on my own without help. God is so so good to those who put ALL their trust and faith in Him.

I came back and watched this again. I made this recently. I substituted frozen green beans for the green pepper since I can’t eat them. It was yummy. We are going four hours away later this month to see my 95 year old aunt before she goes to glory. I’m going to be taking the ingredients for this meal along to prepare when we get there for my uncle and my cousin. When I made it, I threw in some garlic powder. The husband loved it. He’d never had kielbasa before. My miracle is that God enabled me to forgive the man who molested me as a child.

God has done many miracles in my life, I think the best and most important one was when He saved me from a life of sin and filled me with his Holy Spirit. That gave me the assurance that I can live with Him through out eternity. What a miracle that he loves us all enough to die on the cross that we can live. If you don’t know Christ as your personal Savior, I encourage you to just ask Him into your heart today. He is right there just waiting for you, He loves you so much.

I know this is an older video, but I just wanted to share. After 7 long years of living out of bags and boxes in other people's homes, God has blessed me with a home of my own (apartment). The waiting list to get in here is 2 years, I was on the list only 2 months. When I moved in here all I had was my clothes, a borrowed air mattress and a borrowed metal folding chair. Through the kindness of the other residents here, He has filled my home with beautiful furniture.

I was told by one Dr. That if she lived , she would have brain damage! But her main Dr. Told me she prayed for her “Kids” every day day !! She did have to learn to walk again after 6 weeks in the hospital, but vision was fine, No brain damage ( she ended up in the Gifted Program) . In September 2015 I was having open heart surgery a blood clot Broke Free and went to my brain and cause a stroke that left me 80% blind God revealed to me that even though he didn't cause the blindness he allowed it so that I would have to stop and listen to what he was trying to teach me and I have been so grateful ever since that happened because it completely changed my walk with the Lord and opened it up in a way that I cannot explain I can only say that I am filled with love and gratitude for the Lord that I cannot put into words I also want to say that I am so thankful that you do this program because I very much enjoy listening to your recipes and listening to you talk about your walk with the Lord because it's hard to find that so praise God and may he always bless you your family and the program

We received a miracle on June 30, 1989. It was the day my daughter was born. On June 29th at my normal OB/GYN appointment. My doctor did an Amniocentesis and her lungs were not developed at all. I was only 33 weeks pregnant. But my preeclampsia was so bad my doctor thought that they would have to do an emergency C-section on the next day. Everyone we knew said prayers for my unborn daughter and me. We were on so many prayer chains. Praise God when she was born her lungs were totally developed. Patricia did not have to go to the NICU. She weighed 5 pounds and she was a beautiful healthy baby girl. Just very little. My doctor even said she was not life flighted to Duke from wake Med. In Raleigh NC due to God and the power of prayer. She completed our family we already had a 2 year old son. Have a blessed day! Donna Raleigh, NC

I can attest that prayer works.I have been suffering with esophaguses cancer for the past few months. I spent the past summer watching these food videos in between the chemo/radiation treatments. My hair hasn't fallen out but I have lost weight(I needed to)and these vids have kept me satisfied -these and holding the hand of my lord and savior Jesus. Thanks for the vids and talks about Jesus.

@@TheHillbillyKitchen I read in the cookbook that you would tell more about your mother in the next book. I was raised from 6 yrs old till grown by my loving grandmother n my father along with my three brothers. I started cooking n sewing n cleaning at age 6. Before I lived with my mother who had a drinking problem. She loved my father so much n when he left she turned to the bottle. My brothers went with daddy of course bc they were boys. Well the drinking demon ate my mom up. She would have her weekend boyfriends n she’d pass out . I ended up from 4 to 6 yrs old being raped, burned with cigarettes if I screamed, went days without food or water only beer to drink, hair matted , only a little shirt n underwear to wear. I have scars on my arms especially n all over my body from the burns. My mother I really don’t think knew I was being raped. I truly beloved she loved me. She was sick however once my daddy took me away I was so scared to go n see her. I’d only seen her a few times by age 13. The day she called me is burned in my brain n soul. She was crying n wanted to see me n I was so scared. I was ugly to her n said no I didn’t want to see her n to leave me along. My mother the woman that gave birth to me hung up n killed herself. I’ve carried that with me since I was 13. To this day I let people say or do whatever they want to me but I won’t be ugly to them. I know this is long however n it’s not a nice childhood. I could’ve use it as an excuse to run wild but I chose to look to God n seek His strength to make me a loving giving God fearing women. I treasure all moms, n if I could go back oh how I would change that day. I still struggle with guilt. I feel God worked a miracle on this here lady. My life hasn’t been a bed of roses but whose has. I adopted a beautiful baby girl that has given me 5 beautiful granddaughters. I’m am truly blessed. I hope this isn’t to long. I wanted to share my miracle with you. My life could’ve turned out so much different but God had His loving arms around me at all times.

It's truly amazing that our Heavenly Father knows exactly what I need every single day. He has been there for all my needs. And I always remember that Jesus said "Do not be afraid for I am with you". Also, this is a great recipe and I will be making it soon. Thanks Becky.

My youngest son, had colon cancer. Through prayer and all the treatment, plus surgery twice...He came out cancer free. His surgeon at Vanderbuilt said she wasn't expecting that. He told her that was the power of prayer. How wonderful is our God, that's with a capital G. Love and the best to you and yours. Lucky Jones

I love your videos and the fact that you include God and the Plan of Salvation on your videos! My wife had some medical problems some years ago and was over medicated thereby losing memory and causing seizures! Through the years, her many health problems have taken a real toll! I would appreciate prayer for her (Susie) and for me (Randle)as her husband and caregiver! I would like to lift up Bret in prayer and pray specifically if you feel comfortable sharing. If not, l can just lift his condition or conditions up before the Lord! Thanks again!

My miracle story: I was in the NICU when I was born. The doctors told my mom that, *if* I lived, I would be blind and mentally disabled. But, y'all, I had a praying mom and grandmother. Yes, I wear glasses, but not only can I see, I was in honors classes in high school, I'm a college graduate (BA in elementary education with reading and ESOL certifications), wife, and mother of 6 beautiful children whom I homeschool. God is good!

Your channel has blessed me. Many years ago, my backslid step-mama would pawn me off onto her mama over the weekend. I was on restriction all the time, and the only place I was allowed to go was to church with ‘Gramma Virgie’. After awhile, Gramma Virgie would come to live with us. She said she was an Oakie-Arkey. She made some of these meals or some version of them. I thank the Lord for your encouraging channel, and taking the mystery out of how she made those one-pot meals for all 10 of us.

Becky....I cannot express how much I appreciate you and your cooking videos. I learn so much and get all kinds of tips. Plus delicious recipes. On a personal note....I am being challenged once again with my health. Two cancers, mitral valve repair, blood disorder, pneumonia and congestive heart failure, several surgeries and stays in the hospital, radiation and chemotherapy treatments all while trying to work I am now undergoing testing for severe and possibly serious GI issues. It's not easy and most days I'm almost surprised to wake up in the morning. It's not easy, it's difficult and hard but this is my life....what is the phrase used today "it is what it is". I have my moments but mostly I do not lose faith. Everything comes from God, from the rising sun to the rising moon and everything in between. However we all have our choices and decisions to make for ourselves. Especially with all the madness in the world today, attitude and faith and simple humanity and kindness can help relieve distress not just to others but to ourselves. The pandemic is growing more (at least where I live in northern West Virginia) and today I was told my father's wife has COVID as well as her son-in-law and several others in the community. After hearing the news, the first thing I did was call my father's wife to ask if they needed anything.....from the store, meals I could prepare for them. I am not able at this time to do much, just walking through my apartment is a struggle. But I can sit and chop and cut and prepare then the Crock Pot Express or Ninja Foodi do the rest. I like to cook (hence I'm here) and if that will help another and I can do it, I am happy to. There is too much negativity, hatefulness, anger and nastiness in our society. It's disheartening. I don't fear too much because I know there is a reason for everything from The Almighty and though I may not understand, it's not for me to question or understand God's plan for us. I have never prayed for a cure for myself; I pray for the strength to bear and get through it. I try to live my life through kindness to others and my faith to keep me balanced. Okay....back to the recipe. Butter is always better. That is what I like about cooking....I know what's in there and I control what is added and how it's cooked. You cannot do that with microwave meals or takeout. That looks easy and delicious! You may think you talked too long and it cooked too much but I disagree. I never tire of hearing you talk and I like meat and veggies a bit on the done side. Thank you so much Becky and Brett.
