Savannah - a paranormal thriller.
Editorial Review by Book Review Directory.
"After sinning, Father Emmanual is sent to find his faith and devotion to God again in Savannah. However, he will face more than just the demons of his past when he meets the mysterious Ms. Savannah, an alluring woman whom he finds he cannot pull himself away from, despite what his faith may expect of him.
Throughout the book, Father Emmanuel has a sense of dread and terror which is portrayed well through intense descriptions and imagery. The reader will feel as though they are transported into each page and feel that same sense of dread and terror that Emmanuel does.
When Father Emmanuel is faced with his big dilemma of choosing his faith or his love for what he shouldn’t have, the readers will find themselves eager to see what comes next and what the outcome will be of his decision. With any decision that Father Emmanuel faces, it is his faith he hopes will help lead him down the right path.
Savannah contains seamless plot progression. The chapters don’t jump from one scene dramatically to the next but instead, create a seamless transition where all the subplots fall together effortlessly. Although readers will be left on a cliffhanger, they will find they hope for another book to come, rather than being annoyed at the questions left unanswered.
The characters themselves aren’t relatable, but this allows the reader to be a bystander in the book and watch the horror unfold without becoming as emotionally invested in the characters as with other genres.
Ms. Savannah and Father Emmanuel have their charms and captivating histories, creating a more in-depth story for the reader rather than just being a simple paranormal story. Ms. Savannah is an alluring character who will shock readers with what she is capable of.
This is a fast-paced book with quick chapters that result in a large book being easily read in a few sittings. With a suspenseful plot and gripping topics explored, the reader may feel as though all their senses are heightened while on this paranormal journey.
Throughout the book, there are little to no errors, creating a smooth reading experience for the audience. However, in parts it is noticeable that some phrases have been used repeatedly and some descriptions are used more than once, taking away from the original impact which the description would first have on the reader.
There are dark topics explored in this book which are to be expected from some horror or thriller stories. Scenes can include assault, torture, death, and rituals. Some readers may find select scenes difficult to read as they are very immersive and can result in a feeling of helplessness toward some characters.
During Savannah, Moody delves into a variety of dark and unsettling themes. These topics however are important in deepening the atmosphere of horror and suspense for the reader. These scenes will captivate readers and allow them to see the depths of evil that exists within the fictional world.
Savannah is a thrilling paranormal thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Moody has created an intense and terrorizing story that lingers long after the final page. Fans of the thriller genre will want to get their hands on this book."
