Savannah Guides are an enthusiastic, passionate group of Australian nature-based tour guides and tour operators going from strength to strength after 25 years.They are a network of professional tour guides and tour operators spanning northern Australia dedicated to helping visitors experience, and understand, the natural and cultural histories of their locations.
Savannah Guides work with many of Australia’s leading tourism, environmental and community organisations to pursue the Mission of being an economically sound, community based professional body which maintains high standards of:
🟤 Interpretation and public education
🟤 Training and guiding leadership
🟤 Natural and cultural resource management
Savannah Guides Field Schools are workshops, bringing together tour guides, operators, Traditional Owners, National Parks Rangers, tourism and government representatives, researchers and other like-minded individuals.
🤠 At least two Savannah Guides Field Schools are held each year at varying locations across the savannahs.
🤠 Featuring experts in fields such as ecology, traditional culture, land management, guiding techniques and tourism.
🤠 Usually four days in length with many activities in the field.
🤠 An affordable registration fee plus accommodation and camping options to suit all participants.
🤠 Help guides to maintain a high level of professionalism.
🤠 Help many individuals and operators to enter the tourism industry, set staff professionalism benchmarks, refresh technical knowledge, make network contacts or simply explore a new region behind the scenes in a fun, educational setting.
🤠 Sharing knowledge is a key part of the ethos
