At the same budget, let's consider highest selling variant of XL6, that's Zeta. If you compare XL6 Zeta AT with Caren's Prestige 1.4L 7 seater Manual which cost same on-road, XL6 is way way better option with better looks, more features, better pre and after sales network, better service network and better resale value. Also, XL6 holds double the market share than Kia's carens. I'm buying XL6 after comparing all the cars. Kia has to improve their staff behaviour, they don't care about the customer at all, no one cares to even talk to you when you're there to buy their car. This is the same behaviour I had seen in Ford. Some Nexa showroos are same, won't lie, as they have way higher demand but not a single Kia's showroom I visited was willing to talk. Also, the most important thing, mileage, Karen's actual on-road figure is about 50-60% of XL6, 7-9 KMPL in comparison to 13-16 KMPL. A colleague has a Seltos which has the same engine as Carens and they literally prefer to drive their Audi over it for mileage. XL6 is a way better package at the cost it sells, although the differences shrink as you go up on its variants.

Ex xl6 owner here. Xl6 is joy to drive in bumper to bumper traffic of blr due to its smart hybrid technology.

You forgot to mention the blinds in the second row of the Carens they are a boon in hot Indian summers and those overhead a/c vents work very well: never close those vents and never shut off the rear blower for fear of condensation over the roof of the Carens.

Great comparison. But as reliability goes, if we compare the petrol trims, XL6's TC Unit fairs better than Carens's DCT unit. MPV+DCT not a perfect combo.

Whenever Vikranth Singh enters the picture, the scene lightens up very well😀. Kia Carens is a really compelling package than what others in this segment offers and more vehicles should try to fill this space apart from these two.

Xl6 cant accommodate adults in 3rd row, carens can. My head was hitting roof in 3rd row in xl6. That was key factor for me in booking a carens. Carens is better in all departments barring it's to be seen long term reliability, as it's a new vehicle. There's bound to be issues popping up in a 1st gen, if kia can rectify all, no problem then

Please talk about service of Maruti vs Kia. On this count alone, it is advisable to give Kia a miss. We have sen over the years, each and every new make has faded away. The only ones which are here to stay are Maruti, Honda, Hyundai and Toyota.
