Its very nice. The budget option is a Harbor freight 1x30 belt sander for $50 and belts are are 5 for $4

I'm a knife maker and use a 2x72" belt grinder, its insanely helpful for the jewelry I make as well. If I didn't have that I would probably buy one of these!

@@GomeowCreations: Longevity of the belts would really have to factor in here. My surprise was basically a gut reaction when I heard the price. It would be a great thing to have if only it had some way to grind to an angle. Some kind of a small shelf for example, to put your rings on and sand the sides perpendicular. For the tasks you show here you can just use a sanding disk on a drill for example, same result but without the expensive proprietary consumables

The best tool I've found for making ring shanks perpendicular (for attachment to a setting) is a mitre vise, a small and indispensable tool. There are lots of posts on IG on this technique, and I'm sure on KZfaq as well.
