Saved By The Bell Bumpers. I had these on old VHS tapes and thought I'd share. I do NOT own the intellectual property at all. I'm just sharing for the sake of nostalgia.

I know even Lisa (Lark) was my favourite character, I think they took this being mean to Screech, too far. I mean it's only a show, but how can you disrespect your friend for so long 😮

When I see this scene at 0:36, I start to imagine them being on different channels like Playhouse Disney, Disney Channel, Boomerang, Nick Jr or Nickelodeon telling the viewers about the characters from every show they watch. They would also watch the episode that's playing on TV and tell the viewers about watching their favorite shows on VHS and DVD anytime and collect them all. Like the Nick Jr videos that kids can watch anytime and the upcoming videos.

Damn in these " Bumpers " Screetch was treated as an outkast 😒 poor dude ... He was the only real Kid on that whole show ... With out Dustin that show wouldn't of made it to one whole season ... He was the comedy of saved by the bell ... He represented all of us ... Cuz everybody is a Nerd in their own way 😏

Well said, my man. I even thought that as a kid. When I saw these bumpers, I thought, "Do they have to be so mean to him". Does that have to be included in a 10-second segment lol. I know the dynamic was he was always kicked around, but maybe he could have had more of an arch to be cooler in later seasons. Who knows. But I'm happy to share every gem that I can find on my old tapes. Glad you liked them!

In a way, I always thought he was one step further than everyone. Just when everyone thought Jessie was going to be valedictorian, screech got it instead. But later gave it up to Jessie. He did much better on the SATs than everyone accept for Zack. When Screech was in a relationship with Violet, there were no arguments or infidelities between them other than the situation with her parents which didn’t decrease their feelings for one another. The other relationships on the show there were either arguments or infidelities. Without Screech, Zack schemes wouldn’t have been fully complete.

Screech was used as a weird, awkward kid during the run of the original Saved By The Bell series. During the New Class, it seemed like he and Mr. Belding were supposed to be gay lovers - what was that all about?
@nancyhey10123 жыл бұрын
It was mostly about Screech wanting to be a character who got more respect from people than he got in the original class. Even though his character was still highly stereotyped, he got more respect. Other students felt comfortable sharing feelings with him that they didn’t with Mr. Belding. I’m not so sure why they had the gay theme. Maybe because it was a time when gay people were coming out of the closet, and they wanted to show that they were accepting of homosexuality, ie there wasn’t a stigma attached to it any more. Even though Screech was not really gay, he did have romantic relationships with women during the course of The New Class. But he also seemed to desire to have a close relationship with Mr Belding. Perhaps because he saw him as a father figure to replace a father that he never had or was not very close to. Or maybe to be the good buddy that he had wanted Zack to be.

@@nancyhey1012 I think that whomever owned the rights to SBTB, tried to stretch things out for years just to make extra money even though they were clearly out of ideas. Dustin Diamond was not a great actor and he was very awkward in his late teens/early 20s, so it could be that he over-acted to try to get a laugh. However, he over-acted in a way which made it look like he was in love with Mr. Belding.
@nancyhey10123 жыл бұрын
@@ConcernedCitizen5514 I can certainly believe that they were only in it for the money. Yes, they wanted Dustin Diamond to play a comic relief kind of character. My feeling was that Screech was not really in love with Mr. Belding so much as he was just looking to him as a father figure. But they knew they could get laughs if they gave everything he said to Mr. Belding a sexual double entendre.

Hi Jay Dee. I went through a bunch of old tapes and these were all I could find. The third one is a bumper when they introduced "The Guys Next Door" which was sort of a take on "New Kids On The Block". 5 guys who had adventures and sang songs. One of them Played Johnny Decoda! Glad you enjoyed!

@Beany69519 күн бұрын
Good question. I thought to myself, "Do they even like him" when I was a kid. It's as if he was supposed to be the punchline of the joke just for being himself. Not cool in the long run.

These are different bumpers that would introduce the different shows. That clip was right before a show called "The Guys Next Door" which was similar to New Kids On The Block. The show came on right after Saved By The Bell.

@@MetallicaFanSandman Oh absolutely! Sometimes it started with a clip of a pig dancing, and they said "It's time for Boogie the Dancing Pig" then it would fade and switch to the Guys Next Door intro.
