I get the impression that the teaching that "David" refers to Jesus comes from the Reformed church's reluctance to take certain verses literally - for example a large majority of Reformed pastors here in England do not believe the "sons of God" who came in to the daughters of men in Genesis were angelic beings in human form.

Israel represents the nation that has been redeemed and repented of their sins. Note that distinction as well as you study Jeremiah.

If Jacob’s trouble was the 70 year captivity why aren’t they restored yet? Jer 30 clearly says that Israel will be restored in Jacob’s trouble and it will be a time unlike never before. ( Alas for that day is great that there is NONE Like it)Jer 30:7. That perfectly matches matt 24:21 Israel has to be restored. God promised it. You have no proof that Jacob’s trouble is the 70 year captivity. You just deny what scripture says. You have to prove God restored them Like Jer 30:7-11 and verses 17-23 say, and at no time has he restored them yet. When did these things take place?

Many Christians and Bible teachers (myself included) believe that Jesus spoke of near future and a far future events in Matthew 24. certainly, she of his words were fulfilled in 70 A.D. and yet there seems that some of his words have yet to be fulfilled. I'm so excited for it! :D And to your claim about Matthew 24, you have to realize who Jesus is talking to. His disciples are Jewish and they already know about the time of Jacob's troubles. The Old Testament is full of references to it. They were asking for the signs of when it was going to happen. He wasnt talking to His church. When He in fact is talking to His church in Revelation, He tells the church of Philadelphia that since they kept His command to endure patiently, He will also keep them from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. (Verse 10) This seems pretty clear to me, that Jesus is not going to make them go through Jacob's trouble. And to 2 Thessalonians, you didnt keep reading. Verse 7 says, "For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till He is taken out of the way. (Continuing to verse 8 to 12) And then the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the true but have delighted in wickedness. All together, it sounds like what's going to happen is as soon as the AC is revealed, Jesus is coming to take His Bride. And all that refused to be saved during the time before will now believe the lie. And what about the countless places where it talks about the Lord's judgment and wrath in those last days? @@beckyrivere3679 The great tribulation is not God's wrath. God's wrath is poured out at the end. The time of great tribulation is Satan's wrath against the Jews and those who stand with them. The pre-trib rapture is only taught for the most part in the West. Why do you think that might be? Jesus did not teach escape and exemption. He called us to be his witnesses, which in Greek is the word for martyr. Persecution and martyrdom, not escape, is the pattern of history. Where is the pre-trib rapture for the believers in China, Iran, for all the underground church? Are they a different kind of believer? If you are willing to do whatever God asks you, as you say, then you may very well get the chance to prove it. Peter said he would never deny Jesus. But when backed into a corner, he did just that.
