First off, thank you for posting this. I know my viewing is years late, but it is still relative. The point I would like to make, respectfully, concerning the ytpc, is the herd mentality. We are always on the lookout for good new pipes and tobaccos, so we all take recommendations seriously. I remember one video giving rave reviews on the 320. Before long, there were several other presenters who hurriedly bought one and jumped on the 320 bandwagon. So, this pipe shape caught on like wildfire and before you know it, dozens of presenters were all showing off their 320s. I have never followed the crowd simply for the sake of following. Savinelli is a fine company, but a majority of their pipes are middle of the line factory pipes. That is a fact and that is all you should expect from a 320. As for pre carbonized bowls, I have never had an issue. I have been smoking a pipe for almost 50 years. I have had many with and without precarbonization. Little difference in the end. Also, gurgling would come from your choice of tobacco and your smoking habits. Yours do not match up with the 320s bowl size and shape. It takes some years to figure all this out. When a pipe size and shape works for you, you should stick to that when purchasing new pipes. Don't just follow the herd. This is all said, hopefully, in an informative, way. I do not mean to talk down to anyone. Take care.

Right now I'm torn between the Roma 320 and the Oscar tiger rustic 673. I like the wood grain look at the top of the bowl. love both styles but leaning towards the 673 because I like the color of the bit somewhat better.

I bought one and it just smokes great

sandpaper, and everything is ok, as far as perecarbonated pipes

Got a 623 that was carbonized . Bottom 1/3 of the smoke was nasty. Took about 1/2 dozen bowls to clean up.

Man, four minutes in and you're still whining about carbonization? Oh boy. And gurgling - what's up with that!? How about adjusting your smoking style and tobacco? Never had _any_ of those issues and absolutely love all my 320s. Great smokers right from the start and excellent value for the money.

+Daniel Spielmann Good to hear Daniel. Personally, I think the 320s are ok but overhyped. I'll keep mine but honestly, I have been a bit dissapointed with it. Different TB and packing methods have helped. And yeah, that carbon crap they put in there is NASTY! Rarley experience any of the gurgliing, HOT, etc. with my other Savs. Oh well, live an learn, they can't all be amazing smokes. They look cool..I guess that counts for something!

GearNutJim Smith I also have a 320 savinelli, but a venere model. I absolutely love it. I have not experienced any of the problems you have,but it did not come with a pretreated bowl. Smokes great and is gorgeous .

Maybe consider a more delicate and less frequent tamping protocol man. Just saying, thanks for the review.

That does not look like a Savinelli... looks more like a Rossi????

Must admit my experience has been different, I have never detected any strange flavors, I only smoke English blends in mine, but to me that shouldn't make a difference either. I have always wondered if different batches of briar can produce different tastes. I also have only smoked it with the balsa wood filters. My tortuga gurgles from time to time but the 320 is my best smoking pipe.

+sektion333 Good to hear. I use the Balsa as well but have found this one to smoke better without it. I think that I am a "wet smoker". However. this pipe has gotten better through the break-in and I also pack it tighter now. That helps.

I believe the SETA series does not have that pre-carbonized bowl. I know exactly what you mean by this pipe tends to have a strange flavor at first and it smokes hot. Nice review.

+Monster Bear I think it is starting to get broken in (11 months later!) I now pack it much tighter and this helps.

Great review! Ive also noticed it to be less "gurgly" w/o the filter. Smoked great off the line and even better after break in. Very enjoyable

I bought a 320 and have never had a "bad taste" nor "gurgling" (I use the filter), only a long, cool smoke.
@gearnutjimsmith157 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that. I still have mine but it is last in rotation among my other Savs.
@bme74917 жыл бұрын
GearNutJim Smith Then again, I'm slow paced. I typically get an hour out of the 320.
@gearnutjimsmith157 жыл бұрын
Mine is better now that I pack it tighter and the bowl is seasoned with a thicker carbon. It seems that I am in the minority of folks that have don't love the 320. :^)

Just broke in mine and it is a nasty taste. Used Carter Hall (entire pkg.) to get rid of that awful taste. But once done,mmmm good smoker.⭐️🤐

The only problem encountered with this pipe is that it is difficult to grips with the teeth, because the shape of the stem
