So if I put my music all on PC and then format the hard drive in a Mac and then put the music from the PC into the hard drive where it worked for the Mac

Yes backup your hard drive before reformatting

If your using a mac, 1st backup your drive. Then click on utilities in application. Then click on disk utility & there u can format your harddrive

After you have formatted the drive, then u can restore it from the backup

Bob Heinstan The Harddrive that was given to u has to be (formatted) for ur Mac or PC before transferring any music or crates to the harddrive
