We are using this same method to save for a big roadtrip that we are taking. We have our top priorities at the front and the wishful thinking at the back and we are going to see how much we can save.

Hi!! I was watching when you started this project for the month ahead, and I cannot for the life of me remember if you ever said how you use this month ahead? In my mind, if I needed a month of bills paid, that would be my emergency fund. Because it would be an emergency that probably occurred if I couldn't pay my bills. What I am wondering is how you anticipate using this? I am sure you said at some point but I either missed it or I just can't remember. I look forward to your videos! Thank you!

Such a great question! I debated if I needed a month ahead because I agree there’s always the emergency fund. But I ultimately would like to keep them separate. So I would use my emergency fund for an emergency that I can’t cover with sinking funds like car or house stuff medical bills etc. This would be a set amount for something more extreme like job loss, knowing I could cover every bill for at least one month. Ultimately though I would use all resources I had if it came down to that. 🌸💕💜
