Another way to repair, reuse, recycle on the farm! Instead of taking this broken terra cotta pot to the dump, we decided to buy some glue and take a chance on repairing it. With some Gorilla Glue and Martha Stewart specialty paint, we have a beautiful new pot ready to use to spruce up our curb appeal!

I have done this many times. I am very clumsy and I drop pots :-) I also fixed a chiminea in a similar way, but not with superglue. I used JB weld and wired it together as well. That's in another video.

I now live in Italy and in Tuscany I saw that the broken pots where repaired has if they where sewn with copper. In fact they are sewn. I just repaired one this morning , I did drill holes and then took my copper wire and sewn the pot back. With time the vertdegris appears and it is beautiful.

While I'm thinking about it I should say that what didn't work for me is hot glue. It would only work if it enclosed things it doesn't work to glue this kind of stuff together at least for me.

I’d have left the inside to keep the water out of the crack. I like the suggestion of the Martha Stuart paint ❤️

I lost two blueberry bushes to deer. They were relentless in their determination to eliminate my blueberries. First one was eaten down to the roots and the second one was pulled up out of the pot and eaten down to the roots as well. There was no saving either of them. I hope you don't have deer in your neighborhood. If so, put them up high, like a 2nd or 3rd story balcony. Darn deer!! Your pot looks great!

Reminds me of Kintsugi, which is the respected Japanese art of repairing things and giving them further life. Love to see things being repaired where possible. Respect. 🌲🌝☘️

I actually combine the two adding gold colored tint to whatever I'm gluing the pieces together with. An easier way to do this is to glue together like you did and then use a small, hot glue, gun and gold colored hot glue to make it look like it was fixed in kintsugi style.

Are you not supposed to apply water to one of the cracked surfaces first to bond ?
