The Andean bear, also known as the spectacled bear, is sometimes called the Paddington bear, after the fictional bear in children's books written by Michael Bond. The spectacled bear is the only bear species in South America, and its numbers are dwindling. In Peru, the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World, has set aside land as a rescue center for the bears.

Fun Fact: Spectacled Bears are the only living members of the Tremarctinae bear family. This group also includes the now extinct Short-Faced bears (Arctodus simus and Arctotherium angustidens)

Estimates say hundreds of species a day are wiped out and faster all the time. I worked hard to save some and they died. The reason is industrial society and we cannot step outside of it. It will destroy our species too. There was very little extinction before. I hope you can do whatever possible for the bears you care about and wish you luck. They deserve your help as everything ends and you will have a worthy life for helping.

When humans move into these animal habitats we are taking from the animal wild life that already lives and breathes in these areas.. when we hunt we take away from there hunting grounds.. same as taking there fish and fruits that they depend on. We need to Replant, regrow, help the salmon flow, help mother earth replenish
