While not the normal fall on the floor funny, Carlin does make a pretty amazing case for the insanity that is 'Save the Planet'. Let us know what you think!

This man is single handedly responsible for divorcing myself from many concepts by articulating the truths we are too afraid to acknowledge sometimes. I really wish he were here to offer us his philosophy now. What a legend.

George would not care if he can't perform on college campus. He would make fun of that college on stage and then they would quickly regret it.

That's no longer the case, they'd regret nothing. George would be condemned if he applied his wit across the board and included their sacred cows in his material. Humour, irony wit and satire are now policed.

I didnt think this bit could get any funnier. 30 seconds into the joke "...people that are worried about everything." Right after he finished the sentence, an ad for a cleaning product called Natures Miracle takes its mark as they transition to Camera2 and Im instantly proven wrong.😂

He spent his career laying out borderline and sometimes flat out anarchist thought. If anything, he is laying down truth here that people continue to ignore. It's what he was good at. Telling you exactly how things are and allowing us to laugh at how badly we have screwed up the planet, this country and ourselves. The sad part is this is decades old and very little has been done about it. That's what happens when we allow hierarchical structures like this to exist.

@@MagicianandtheJockThe only universities that "push" agendas are the private religiously extreme ones, and it's always "live the way they say to live". I've been in the environments of both. In middle school, we stayed at a private one in junction with my private school as part of a fine arts thing. Though, the only songs we sang were hymns. And looking back, everyone there seemed to have similar thoughts and opinions. When I was college age, went somewhere more public. Encountered lots of differing opinions and ideas. But it never affected my political leanings one bit.

George Carlin was a legend at detecting and calling out bullsh*t. Also, the whole "Angry Old Man" thing was just a stage persona, which he pulled off spectacularly I might add.

Good reaction. In my opinion Carlin was more of philosopher than a comedian. He does have some funny sets but most of his work made you think.
@busterheine3806
@busterheine3806 6 ай бұрын
“What do you guys think?” Well…I think that: when reviewing comedy, the show’s hosts shouldn’t try to upstage the comedian/s on stage-with unnecessary commentary that breaks the comic’s timing. Whenever you talk, while someone else is speaking?…there’s something that you’re not hearing. And sometimes, what you didn’t hear was/is something that’s an important part of what’s being said. Nonetheless…you are both correct. George Carlin is less a comic-and more of a philosopher. He once labeled what he did onstage as “observational humor”. The magician was right. You’ll be thinking a great deal more about what he said AFTER he left the stage. Everyone who teaches desires this. That is where the REAL change occurs. With comic philosophers, it happens not at the end of the laugher; but, at the beginning of the thinking. Lastly: just what is “Woke”? Everyone who uses this word seems to wield it with such certitude; until you ask them for its definition; and examples. Then…it all falls apart. So, again fellas: “What does the word ‘Woke’ mean?” Is it a noun?; a verb?; a pronoun?; an adjective?!? Where does (did?) it come from? Was the original meaning different from its popular construct? Or…is it just another one of those “All-American”words that can mean “anything” to “anyone” at ”anytime”? Essentially, making it a word that means: nothing at all. (?) Last question: is the alcohol usage on your show just a “prop”?; or, does it serve an actual purpose? Just curious. Sorry for the length of the post, but you did ask: “What do you guys think?” Feel free to delete this post it’s asking too much of you Love your show.
@MagicianandtheJock

Love the response. Thank you. We try not to upstage the comedian. However, if it is in the moment we do not want to lose the thought. That’s why we go back a bit so no one loses what is being said. As far as what “woke” means, well it’s an action verb and it’s a means of bring awareness to a certain situation. Use to be a way to bring social situations that the black community have to face and deal with. But it seem now that everyone that got their feelings hurt or a situations that they feel is more important then real issues people face. Now I’m speaking as a white man and I think it’s really sad that people want to be woke on nonsense. Giving the term a watered-down feel. The black community faces enough situations they don’t need to be buried by people with insignificant problems, using the word woke to define their situations or issues. Thank you for checking us out. We really appreciate you.

I want to play in this sandbox for a minute. Im just going to point out one thing and Ill be out of your hair. I read your post in its entirety. Your just trying to start something, which really interferes with your ability to have a serious discussion or debate. At the end, you say its a response to the question "what do you think?", but your words reflect that of a person trying to explain what they feel. Feelings arent thoughts. You lack what Carlin had in that regard. You discredited yourself with your words, where he ingratiated himself. A little Vaseline helps. You cant just go raw ass fuckin peoples ears holes and eye cavities. 🍻

George is the goat. While he may not be telling your actual typical jokes, he still never fails to make me laugh. If only more ppl watched and absorbed his material, maybe the world wouldn't be as astronomically fucked as it is. George has had probably the biggest impact on me and how I view the world and my way of thinking then anyone. He's taught me a great many things. I think that's why I love comedy and comedians so much, cause u will never hear more truth, the way the world really is, from anyone else, usually all wrapped up in hilarity, and I like to laugh and like funny shit. Especially dark humor... stuff that just makes ppls jaws drop... so good.. and I've never been offended at a single one. RIP George.. miss ya buddy... could really use u nowadays

Actually, in an interview, Carlin had described his political leanings as "hard left". And as proof, though you might disagree with a fair bit of the sentiment in it, he has a video on his take on abortion. And he was a former Catholic that became athiest. For citation on that, there is the video known as "Religion is BS". Believe it or not, I saw him in Bill and Ted 1 and 2 before I even knew he was an intellectual comedian. And boy, does his stuff blow me away. Fun fact about that 7 words special he did, the cops arrested him for that.

It's strange, I've been listening to Carlin since the early 2000s back in middle school and his routines have become like songs in my mind. I am a musician and when I hear him say something like "a long long long lahooong time" it's a melody to me and it doesn't get boring. Just like music and it's even better to be there when other people see and react to this art. Idk man it's just interesting, I can recite so many carlin bits it's not even funny but that experience is directly equivalent to how I can recite any song from coheed and cambria, Bayside, The Dear Hunter, and Mogwai. 😅

Carlin wasn't liberal or conservative. He speaks frequently about his disdain for such concepts and politics in general. He's just a highly educated man who decided the best way to call out the BS in the world is through lectures thinly veiled as comedy routines. One minute he's trashing libs, the next it's conservatives. If you want a better understanding of his beliefs on politics and American society in general, I'd highly recommend his routine called "Life is Worth Losing - Dumb Americans".
