the east have a really bad position,and their main problem are the sassanids. You should pay them small gift every turn and their attitude will increase. Meanwhile consolidate Greece and egypt provinces. After that you can declare war on sassanids and attack them with a blitz war and subjugate them when they have their last settlement and all their vassals will become yours.

The first faction I played was the Western Roman Empire. Doing good so far. Apart from game crashing whenever I open the family tree (bug) and alot of wars and rebellions, doing pretty decent. Now onto spain.

It honestly took me some tries to fully get the hang of the western romans in Attila. In this video is usually how the looks for the AI after a few turns^^

Love this series. Something about the appeal of fighting against overwhelming odds. Most people who watch(and submit to) this are probably hardcore veterans, it's pretty unlikely that anyone among us would have a real disaster. So all these scenarios are probably intentional.

Regarding growth, around the 46 min mark, when returning to a province you'll return with the growth you had when you held it previously. so the reason you have 6 growth in Tripolitana is that the guy had 6 growth in it when he last held it. The growth holds, even if the settlements are build up by the factions that hold the it between your exit and return. - Yes it stupid, yes they should bring population back and get rid of growth.

Did you used to have a lisp? At about 1m 30s you said "tewwitowy" (territory). If so, you've done a fantastic job getting over it. I also had a lisp when I was younger, and it was hard to get over. I've watched several hours of your videos, and that's the first time I've noticed anything.

actually i like this kind of campaigns, is more entertaining than just having 30 arm is killing all, i prefer to have 1 army defending a small city with a good defensive position and push whenever i can

Not as WRE, but I did my first Attila campaign on legendary too. Figured it couldn't be so much different from Rome 2 or Rome 1 which I was pretty good at. 50 turns later I had 1 more settlement than I started with, plague everywhere, making 100 gold a turn, quit out of that shit

This is pretty historical accurate, because during this time the Western Roman Empire basically went in into disarray, on the other hand both Eastern and Western Roman Empire already transform it self into a society that is little different from Medieval Era or Middle Ages.

it had crossed my mind. But fleets are expensive and terrible at fighting on land. Gotta prioritize an army before a fleet.

@@LegendofTotalWar True, although I usually use my fleets in early game for artillery and flanking. When heavy marines get introduced, the Marines are really useful on land imo

Jesus Christ bro, you really love to taking the piss. I'm currently playing the WRE (ep+FotE mods) on VH/H , and I thought that was challenging. ...compared to this though, I got it easy lol. P.S. there is no way the guy that gave you this save didn't set this up to be fucked. I would get a few peeps to vet a bunch of the saves for you, and then pick one of those to record and upload.
