Yeah man, that's even if you make the argument that Kramer is dead and it's all Hoffman's doing, you're still left with the fact that Kramer was planning this. So his whole philosophy is pretty hypocritical. At least Spiral had traps and victims that made sense, not this "You die cuz you a smoker" bullshit.

Gordon was the only Jigsaw apprentice who was smart enough to realize that obeying John's orders and keeping his mouth shut is his best chance at survival.

He is a murder. Like in saw 6. People were going to die either way. The insurance guy was only picking which ones. Then killing this guy's innocent wife who never did anything to anyone and had no idea the lies her husband told. Just not fun to watch. How you live a good life and be a good person and end up dying in a trap with no chance of survival?

I have mixed thoughts on Saw 3D. On one hand, I really like a lot of the Hoffman bits and the Dr. Gordon twist, it's really neat and befitting of the soap opera-y nature of the Saw series that I love. On the other hand, I found myself not caring about the main trap plot at all, especially the final part where the wife is killed even though she's completely innocent: makes sense coming from Hoffman, but feels too mean-spirited. Also, this movie always makes me sad b/c rip Chester Bennington.

*Fun Fact #1:* The Public Execution Trap was originally going to end with Ryan dying. *Fun Fact #2:* Chester’s character was originally planned to survive crashing through the windshield, but they had to change it because he couldn’t show up to film any additional scenes. *Fun Fact #3:* Daniel Matthews (Saw 2) and Brent Abbott (Saw 6) were originally planned to appear in the Jigsaw Survivor group, but this was changed because their actors were unavailable due to scheduling conflicts. *Fun Fact #4:* While it isn’t shown in the movies, the writers’ commentary confirmed that Hoffman didn’t escape the bathroom and eventually died (and if the writers say he’s dead, then he’s definitely dead).

Fun fact about this movie: In a theater somewhere, they messed up a playing of Megamind and instead played Saw 3D. It showed the beginning up to the saw 3D title card. All parents and kids got free tickets and refunds.

I feel so bad for all those kids. I came home from school to my dad watching the previous saw movie years ago when I was around 8 years old and it gave me nightmares for a month straight. This was only from watching a small scene of the shotgun carousel. Even now as an 18 year old these movies still scare me a little.

Fun fact: According to the DVD commentary, Chester's character was originally supposed to survive being thrown out the windshield. The only reason he ended up dying right there was because Chester wasn't going to be available for additional shooting. (He had made a commitment to pick up his children, and nothing was going to break him from that.) Hence, Evan died. Rest in peace, Chester.

The Dr Gordon twist is nice I guess but it always makes me sad. The thing I loved about that movie is how despite the entire hell Lawrence and Adam went through they tried to help eachother. It doesnt make sense imo that Lawrence would leave Adam to die. It kinda hurts the ambiguity of that first film as well. Did Lawrence not make it back and thats why Adam was left there? Its the saddest thing in this series. Maybe they could have had him at least take Adams body.

Yeah I feel like the difference between Kramer and Hoffman is that Kramer made it very clear that all of his traps are survivable, that there is always a way out. Whereas Hoffman's depends on his mood. The one with neck spikes ensured that she would die regardless because that fish hook would have torn her throat appart having her bleed out. The Brazen bull was just cruel as whether the liar would succeed was based on luck rather than his choice to go through with it, which he does!

They should have switched the character arcs for Joyce and Bobby! Joyce should've done the trails while Bobby was in the Brazen Bull, so when she finds out that Bobby was a bloody lair and gets roasted alive the impact would be that much more on her. Quoting Linkin Park’s verses from some of their hit songs in this video is funny, but at the same time pays my respects to Chester Bennington himself. Their music helped me during troubled times in freshman year of high school whenever I was sad or upset. I always thought Chester would keep going in his acting had he lived. He also appeared in Crank and its sequel as well as this movie where he was doomed.

Ah yes the film were "both Jill and Hoffman meet their ultimate fate" as Jill dies to the only instance in the main films where the iconic Reverse Bear-Trap actually kills someone, and it's hinted that Hoffman becomes the 2nd victim to the Bathroom Trap joining Adam. And we also see the film creators actually confirm the popular fan-theory of Gordon surviving the first film and becoming one of John's apprentices to be actual canon.

Yeah, I would count Hoffman as dead so far, cause he is never mentioned again in any sequel; Jigsaw or Book of Saw: Spiral.
