That log is more valuable than the people who make negative comments. Keep up the great work.

Thanks. I'm super glad you noticed that.

I applaud you taking the time to get the maximum amount of useable lumber out of some of those logs. It takes many years to get a hardwood tree to that size and shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Thanks for the compliment. We appreciate it.

I'm always amazed at how quickly you can process those logs, especially the really ugly ones. Bill

Thanks Bill. Practice makes perfect they say and I've had plenty of that since 97

I bet those were somthing to get out of the woods and REALLY something to saw and try and get something out of. The sawyer got to go home and see if another handfall of hair fell out. He really does good to use the carriage and the turner together. SMOOTH! Blessings! Happy 4th!

That saw cuts really nice and clean, no deep grooves left in the wood. Nice wood to cut too. Nice Well the first log was nice, the second not so much. lol

Just curious Jason. How come you don’t skim your cant before you split it?? I notice sometimes u do and sometimes u don’t or the odd time you will flip it around and take a board right away are you not worried about that pc being thick or thin on one end? Great sawing today
@nicholssawmillandmore26 күн бұрын
When I turn it and take another bd I'm trying for a better grade and I probably should skim more.

What are the last two larger pieces used for at the end of sawing most logs ? Tom from Toronto
@nicholssawmillandmore15 күн бұрын
They were 4x6s that will be used for cribbing between layers of steel pipe.

Kinda laughing at all of us armchair quarterbacks on that big ugly about 1/3rd to halfway through…I wasn’t there and have never run a sawmill in my life, but found myself telling you what to do - hahahaha

That's hilarious. Thanks

No money and that log should’ve been firewood.
@nicholssawmillandmore24 күн бұрын
Maybe a little money but probably not enough
@jaracimrdman905926 күн бұрын
ugly logs maybe don't yield the best lumber, but they make the most interesting videos nothing wrong with sawing round straight logs without major knots and defects, but it gets little bit boring to watch
@nicholssawmillandmore26 күн бұрын
I agree and understand. Thanks
@mjseifried750723 күн бұрын
that log was not worth cutting.
@nicholssawmillandmore22 күн бұрын
Maybe so.

No offense, buy thats the worst camera work of all the saw-milling videos I watch, I feel like im getting motion sickness, get a tripod or something. It might look alright on the small screen of a phone, but on my 37 inch inch pc screen, its like a rollercoaster ride.
@nicholssawmillandmore25 күн бұрын
Since you're giving advice I guess my only advice for you since it gives motion sickness is don't watch I guess.
