Well I can tell you one thing, the work never ends. Here I go again making wood chips fly with my Woodland Mills WC68 and my Kioti DK40se hst. In this video I put some larger trees through the chipper and make them into chips that I will be using to cover over my trails. If you're looking for my detailed review of this chipper, be sure to check out my playlist in which I detail the ups and downs of this chipper after a year of ownership. Although the chipper is a solid running unit, check out how I struggle when the wood is really rotten. Despite this minor issue, the chips keep flying as the kioti doesn't skip a beat. Here we go!

I have the WC88 on a 57HP Kabota. It is by far my favorite attachment. The only thing better than watching you chip wood is doing it myself. Brings a smile to my face every time!!!

I have the same chipper, best bang for the buck! I’ve operated larger, more expensive chippers and experienced problems with them. I love my woodland mills chipper.

I like chipping half rotten wood in my old 18hp DR chipper because it is already close to compost. If you put some of that in with some fresh green limbs and grass clippings, it makes lovely compost. Only problem I have is it can take it in so fast that the machine can't blow it out fast enough, or it smacks the hopper and breaks off...it can go flying because the hopper is so short on this machine.

That made a pile of chips quick! Hopefully the wc68 will be my next purchase, I have a manual feed chipper but having the hydro feed would make a world of difference.

Is a great tool for my sawmill for sure. I"ve got a good pile ready to go through the wood chipper right soon. This unit sure has had some miles put on it

This is the same chipper I’m looking at. I have a DK45HST and wondered how it would handle. Looks like it’s a great fit.

I enjoy your videos with the chipper, I recently bought a WC88 after watching your videos. I would like to see what it does with wood slab from your sawmill. Continued your good videos.

We ordered one and took delivery this week. Looking forward to assembly and 1st chips this weekend. Any suggestions on infeed roller setup? You seem to have the least amount of feed issues...less than other videos I've seen. Most of what we're chipping will be cedar. Soft wood so not concerned other than size beyond the main branch diameter. Looks like it will squeeze quite a bit past the roller. Thx!

Is there a way to ajust the chip size, you the chips smaller? Larger chippers, you can wasn't sure about this one.

Maybe it's me but does something need to be adjusted? The chips seem to barely make it out of the chute. I'd want my money back

From what I know that’s how far it shoots when it’s chewing up damp wood or needles. Denser material without all the decomposed wood shoots further.

Hello I just bought the WC-68 back in September and have not opened the Box yet to assemble it. I know this a dumb question Has anyone ever split tree trunks in 4"x4" dimensions and then chip them? I know that is not a common idea but I was wondering since some people can burn or haul off larger trunk pieces Ken in Florida
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy Жыл бұрын
Hey Ken, it would for sure work as I do chip some scrap lumber from time to time and have run material the size of 4x4 through it. I think the challenge will be length of the 4x4's as if they get too short like less than 10" they may get stuck between the chipping blades and the infeed roller

Sandy with all the saw dust and chips you have maybe it's time to buy a pellet mill ?
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy 4 жыл бұрын
Haha true. I think I’ll start spreading it over my trails and maybe keep some for around the house. I’ve thought about making wood pellets for my woodstove but haven’t figured that one out yet

Does it clog often with the rotted wood? We just ordered a WC 88 and I here rotted wood clogs it and burns up the belts
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy 3 жыл бұрын
I’m still on my original belt and have only clogged it a few times. Usually I have too many pine needles and not enough branch wood when that happens. Rotted wood I haven’t had an issue with

Hi Sandy Have you put any fresh hardwood limbs and brush through that chipper. I'm cleaning out a maple bush of all the under growth. Mostly hardwood brush
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy Жыл бұрын
Great question. I have used it to clear tops of maples. I try not to push tons and tons of leaves through it at once but instead alternate between leaves and branches to help keep everything clear when chipping
