@capnbull1 i got the hubs,axle,wheels,pillar block bearings from northern tool.the wheels were out of balance and warpped a bit. that took its toll on the 1 inch axle.if you go wheels. get car wheels. my new saw has 1 1/2" shafts and sheaves(pulleys) instead of tires.i used the old tires from this saw for a trailer for the new saw. thanks for watching.

i was ebaying and bought a build your own saw mill guide. i still have it and even talked to the guy once. it was a play it by ear kinda guide but still gave some good insight. and like anything else after your first few cuts you got to have one. we have had serveral projects now and still have fun. check out our other videos.

there was a guy selling plans on ebay. I bought a set but they where very indecisive." like I got a wheel from the junk yard kinda thing" but it gave me a place to start. so I played it by ear a lot. and didn't have plans to go by. so sorry I don't have any. thanks for watching

I think you have allot of time.And came up with a really cool idea .I look how it was built and seen some ways you came up with to keep the saw blade on.The rod in the back and round bearings .But you know i never seen what you call a safe saw mill lol. White came up with many ideas that could remove body parts lol. But if you could be so kind and let me know when you find something that cuts lumber and that cant happen i will buy it.The chain saw about the most i willing to use right now.Enjoyed the video really hope you make more jason

@scor440 i bought this one off ebay. look under 3 phase static converter. and yes with 220volt you can run 3 phase. pick out the size converter to fit your motor.

What kind of tires do you use? Radial or bias ply and at what pressure? Does it make any difference? I don't have the plans mentioned. Works great!

@scor440 i bought it off ebay. $110.00 and it handles 5 to 10 hp. not true three phase but has worked very well. 2 capacitors and a relay. im sure there isnt 30 bucks in parts.

Great job! It looks like you have grooves cut in the tires. Is that right and if so how did you cut the grooves in the tires?

I'd keep the saw stationary and make a sled for the logs. Raw logs on one end, lumber stack/shed on the other end.
@Tricknologyinc
@Tricknologyinc 9 жыл бұрын
Michael Garafalo It doesn't make sense to move the heaviest piece! It would nice to configure mobility for the log, but that has to be extremely robust hardware like truck parts just to move it, then to make it accurate and reliable, it's too much work. The brilliance of these designs is that the saw moves and you can cut things you CAN'T move! LOL! I take that back. TRAIN PARTS are more appropriate for moving the logs that saw can cut!

try to build a system that sprays water on the sawblade, otherwise the blade will vibrate because of the sawdust that is pressed on it.

PLEASE put a guard around this blade and around the wheels BEFORE anything happens. NOT AFTERWARDS! You are dicing with sliced off fingers and other horrors. Imagine that blade jamming, breaking or just sliding off the drive wheels and slicing you across the face! From someone who nearly lost 4 fingers in a circular saw accident, I know just how easily these things can happen. And I thought that I was using it safely. The only reason I still have the fingers on my right hand is because of the skill of the surgeon who managed to rebuild them. Without him I would be reduced to using only my left hand. BE SENSIBLE, NOT STUPID!!

I didn't see anything keeping that saw from slipping off the wood skids under the wheels! If that would happen and you were anywhere near that blade, GOD help you! Nice work guys, but work a little smarter so we have you around longer without needing a mouth steered scooter, if it doesn't take your head off! JEEZ! And Put a DEAD MAN SWITCH on it too so if you have to head for the hills, it shuts the heck off! ADD a SECOND ONE to the BLADE, so if it slips off, power is cut and brakes apply! It's a LOT EASIER than sewing your head back on! Hell, it's even easier than sewing a thumb back on! That blade doesn't give a CRAP what body part it goes after or how many! Start thinking about which of your body parts you wouldn't mind that blade ripping through! How big a list did you come up with?
