My granddad raised me and my brother and sister. I remember him talking me into going to school the first day and I was scared and I remember getting married and I was scared sipping on my own but he was there. He died a year ago today. He taught me so much in his time, he died 98. And being 38 now I can’t imagine not having them all my life. He was my hero, the man of my life and I’ll never forget him for that.

My father died last Monday. This was the only song that I pushed hard for. It says everything about a father and son's relationship.

Cherish him. My dad left when I was but luckily my grandpal filled his shoes as a role model. I lost him in 2019 at the age 90 but he looked and acted like he was 50. Nothing could take him except Cancer in 3 months time. 😭😭

God, When they are gone this song kills me now. Never understanding the lyrics when he was alive and we were young. I would give ALL the money in the world to have one more day with Dad/Mom!#(R.I.P.)#Daddy#Mama#😢

My mom has been my mom and dad for the last 55 years after my dad died when I was 12 years old. I just recently took that walk with her to the assisted living facility when her dementia got so bad that I needed help taking care of her. Hardest walk this old Marine ever had to take.

This is just how it goes. The old man won’t be here forever. I can promise you that the day it’s over there is much you wish you would have said. Say it now.

That’s a bit different twist in the video than the way I saw the original song in my mind but I like it! My dad has been able to not only see his kids and grandkids grow grandkids but now his great grandkids growing up and it is a true blessing! He imparts untold wisdom that they will always remember for them and me! One of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you guys for releasing this.

Soak up every minute…I remember back in 1987being the age of 18 and seeing my Dad and his brothers, sisters, Great Aunts and Uncles, gathering together while my Grampa passed…and it hit me hard…like a reality flash…if I live I will soon be here doing the same thing when my Ole Man hits the end of his chapter….I’m in my 50’s now…the family is spread all over …no bro’s or sister’s, aunts or uncles to support me during this time…He’s close to 90…things are closing…and yes this song hits home…if you can…reach out to all..I pray they are there for you…if not…humbly make the calls, so maybe they reflect on how it used to be, and at least can tell you how Proud they are that at Least Your There…where they should, or hopefully Want to be. God Bless, Chin up, I pray you know in your heart…your right where you should be👊❤️👊

Prayers for your family. It's just hard. It's been 3 years since I had to leave my dad at the hospital. Just let him know you're there and you love him. That's all you can do.

This song breaks my heart. I lost my fiancé in December 2023. He left behind his 10 year old son. I adore him. After all this time he is my own son. My fiancé lost his own father at 3 months old to suicide. He never ever wanted to leave his son. I will do everything in my power to be there for his son and let hin know how much his daddy loved him. I lost my own father at 12. But the bond between father and son is irreplaceable. I cherish my relationship with him and will be here for him no matter what. I always promised my hunny i would take care of him. He might as well be my own child. This song just means so much. ❤

This song hits different when you've lost your daddy. Lost my daddy August 11, 2013 and i miss him every single day. He was only 58 and i was 29. I got pregnant with his first grandchild four months after he passed and it hurts to this day that he never got to meet his granddaughter. He would have loved her. 😢😢 She was born that next year in August the same month he passed. August is always bittersweet because its my girls birthday month and the month he passed. I had one of the best Daddy's a girl could ask for.
