The Last Kingdom is a British historical fiction television series based on Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Stories series of novels. The series airs on BBC America and on BBC Two in the UK.

What people don't know are the Saxons were just like the Danes when they arrived on the shores of England Saxons are from the part of Germany that's next to Denmark

People know this. Saxon and Danes were pretty much cousins, only thing separating them was religion

True but that was just a ethnic tribe reflecting a common Germanic cultural link (of the nation that was to become known as England). However, by then most of Southern Britain's inhabitants were descendants of Germanized Celtic/Pre-Celtic inhabitants.

Everybody over the age of 10 knows that the Saxons were, like the Danes, Germanic people. The Jutes who settled in Kent were also Germanic people mainly from Jutland in what is now Denmark. They are not the same as the Geats as they are from Gotland, now part of Sweden.

@@Kemilous Yes, from what is NOW Northern Germany ( Old Saxony ( Holstein etc. ). + Schleswig & S. Jutland ) , Holland, Frisia ( coastal regions ) and the rest of Jutand, but they were culturally and linguistically related GermanIC tribes, NOT Germans! This was long before there was any remotely recognisable German language or German states / empire.
