You guys have been there every bad day, sick day, run away from school day, feeling alone day I have had. When I couldn't cope and I thought I would never find people like me, I would watch your videos and feel a bit of hope again. Now I am older and have left school for uni, and 7 years later I actually have a couple friends to call my own! I'm so glad that I can now be there as part of your community through this. I have to return the favour somehow. I'm so grateful that you were there because I don't know how I would have managed otherwise. I'll be sticking around to see your growth no matter how difficult it gets! I'll maybe even find the time between a degree and two jobs to catch you on twitch every now and then haha, see you there! - Jess

I remember the first time doodle date answered one of my comments. I was asking about the watercolors, and was a tiny bit scared of commenting. Very clearly, i can remember that Doodle Date had posted 3 minutes ago at the time, so i took my chance. I was over the moon when they answered, i literally cried of happiness and went out to buy watercolor paints the following day with my mum. That was in 2016, and i was only 9 at the time. Watching these videos gave me an inexplainable joy. I can explicitly remember several videos. Then one day, they stopped posting. Two weeks of no videos turned into months. That was about 3 years ago. I had to keep re-watching the old videos for a year until i simply grew out of my "art-phase". Thats when the "Why we haven't posted for a year" video was posted, and i was livid. I was so mad that they stopped posting, but understood quite well. Now i'm 16, going on 17 and i can't believe i've missed this much. Doodle Date was such a huge part of my life and my daily night routine back in the day was watercolor paints and a Doodle Date video (more like seven). I still doodle from time to time, but not as dedicated as i once was. Happy to see that they're still going strong! Just brought back so many memories. ❤️

I remember writing about you guys as my artist study for my Bronze Arts Award back in 2019! All of my old research papers are full of pictures of you guys, and the work you made in the old house, so the nostalgia hits hard. I hope you get to alleviate some of your stress soon and things start working themselves out with time :)

A good idea is to make a loft out of that high ceiling, in the meantime you can use those nets that people use in tiny houses and homes made in school buses. They are anchored to the walls usually half of the room and pulled taut so it can handle weight and store the stuff you dont need to access up there and out of sight. Use a lot of hooks so if you need to get stuff down you can loosen just a few at a time to get what you need. But better is to get a few 4x4's as a skeleton and put a flat wood panel over the skeleton (i hope this makes sense) to use as a semi permanent loft. Just get a cheap ladder to get up there.

Something that’s really beautiful about this video is how Adam is being so encouraging and caring towards Steph and showering her with compliments. It’s so clear this has taken a toll on you, but I hope you’re finding comfort in the love you have for each other and that in years to come you will look back on this moment in life and be able to remember that even though it was hard, you made it through and kept each other going 💜

On another note, those stairs do look like a bit of a pain but I can't help thinking they would be soooo cute as an entrance with tons of fake ivy and leaves and flowers and mushrooms. It would feel like climbing into a treehouse! Especially with pulling back the curtain as well, entering into your own little world

Aww I know it must’ve been very emotional leaving behind your old home, especially because of how long you’ve lived there. Good luck going forward!! If you're allowed to put holes in the walls, you could look into putting up some cabinets or shelves since the ceilings are so high! Looks like youve got a lot of wall space at least. Maybe a standing shelving unit could help too, just to give you more room to organize things!

If you're finding the stuff overwhelming, I recommend putting all of the boxes into one room and then focusing on making the rest of the apartment as cozy and livable as possible. Then you can slowly tackle the room of boxes without them impacting your stress levels since you don't have to see them every day, if that makes sense? Essentially pretend you're in a studio apartment and the second room is your "closet."

Thank you home- thank you for protecting this lovely little family, for giving them space to grow and evolve as people, and for housing memories and experiences. From a viewers perspective - thank you house, for being a home away from home for so many of us. Thank you for welcoming us through videos when we needed an escape. Thank you for being there while we laughed, cried, raged at gouache and rocks, and let our creativity show. Thank you for not only holding a safe space for Steph, Adam, and the pigs, but also all of us viewers. From my personal perspective- i have been watching for a very long time, and I just wanted to share a few things that have happened to me while you lived in that apartment: I listened to your videos while walking to class in college, and now I have my degree. I had my first ever surgery and watched videos while I recovered. I got my dog and some of our early bonding was rewatching videos of yours on our bed. I've had jobs I hate and now I am at a job I love. I have been through MANY an art block and many a depressive episode. I really feel like I have grown with you over the years, and I deeply and genuinely thank this home for all it has done for you two. You guys deserve the world, and it is sad to move on but I am thankful you had so much joy and growth in that apartment, and even more thankful that I got to be even a tiny part of it. Thank you.

I have to comment on the old bath tub! I visited England back in 1994 because my brother was marrying an English girl. His apartment had the same tub! I will never forget it! In case others couldn't tell, it's shaped like an hourglass... the center of the tub curves inward. No joke I got stuck! 😂 I wasn't "that" big. Like a size 12 or 14. I sat down and somehow all the water ended up behind me and none/ very little in front of me! 😆 🤣 😂 my butt was suction cupped to the tub! It literally made a pop sound when I stood up! It happened to all three of us Americans that night (I was with my mom and my aunt) I had never seen a tub like that before, and not until this video did I see one since! Lol I also remember that the hot and cold water water didn't mix before coming out so the water is running thru just one tap, but half of the flow was ice cold and the other side was boiling hot. Lol..... traveling is so fun! Congrats on the new place and sorry you lost you old place but new beginnings can be fun too! Love yall!🎉

Something that I’ve always loved and that my fellow Appalachian people love doing, is taking old flat-sheets ( from thrift stores, hand-me-downs, or just laying around) and hanging them up as curtains or backdrops if you’re filming videos! It makes everything look so nice and feel very homey. 💕💕

Moving is stressful no matter what! Getting all your stuff organized in a new place can be a slow process, too, especially transitioning to less storage space. I would try to get some free-standing shelving units (or bookshelves, etc) and just cover them with curtains or whatever to create nice backdrops. Try to be patient with yourself and know that we're all here for you guys 💜💜💜

Smellin' good Monty! Aw this is so nostalgic, when I first found your channel (I think the original colorblind glasses was the first I saw) I binged all of your videos! Just recently I've been binging all the videos from the past couple years. I love your guys' content, I don't care where you film it, you always get me inspired to doodle! I've always loved how accessible and relatable your content is - just hanging out on the bed doodling together, finding joy in the small things, its cozy and I feel like I can always 'play along' and draw with you guys. Your "surviving in" aesthetic is also very relatable, we all go thru stuff like this sometimes. Maybe you could posca up some of those brown moving boxes?

But i remember I said that y’all deserve more subscribers than what y’all had at the time and you guys replied saying thank you. I remember I was so excited I got a reply . Fast forwarded now I’m in college still sticking around to watch while I can!

I remember one day while I was living in my own new apartment after my divorce I found a cute couple that liked to laugh and draw. And it made me smile ☺️💖 that was 5 years ago~ And throughout all my difficulties and troubles I always had your bright videos to lighten my day. I wish I could do more to help you both like you helped me.

💙💙💙 Thank you for sharing these chapters of your life with us Adam and Steph! I hope you can continue to make even more wonderful memories together wherever life takes you, and please know that you have a whole squad behind you cheering you on! DoodleDate means so much to me, and it’s truly been a joy to see the art-ventures you guys have embarked on over the years. You continue to be an inspiration to me, and sharing your thoughts, jokes, drawings, and stories has brought me (and many others) great joy. Thanks for all that you do. ❤

So many doodle date video memories. It’s sad to leave the old apartment but the memories there you don’t leave. You take them with you. Idk what I’m trying to say. Except that with the new place will come more new and exciting adventures and memories.

I just abruptly had to move for the 3rd time in 2 years, it’s never easy. I had an apartment for 4 years prior to that and it pained me to leave. Your home is where you exist it’s a part of you. I’m glad y’all showed gratitude to the house itself, most try to act as if it’s soulless but when you put that much love and care and energy into something it does gain a form of life❤

Thank you for posting a video on my birthday!! I’m so happy you both have a roof over your heads. And I can relate to Steph, moving is hard, and not being able to control your environment is even HARDER, especially for us neurodivergent folks. My place lacks storage and has a lot of stairs which as you know, is not something that’s easily to deal with when you collect treasures and have wobbly-joints like we do. I’m wishing you both peace and joy in the new place. I hope you’ll be able to settle in soon. ❤

I’m glad you guys managed to find a place ❤❤❤ my ex just got evicted as well. Apparently, it’s been the season for landlords selling places. I wish you all well in finding your new rhythm ❤❤❤

Recently, in a short period, I had to move from a house to an appartment (which had horrible stairs too) and then went from the appartment to a new house again. I was heartbroken for leaving my home at first and didn't really like the appartment. But now I miss the appartment from time to time, even though my new house is an upgrade. It is quite confusing. I can really understand that you don't like to unpack at the moment, Steph. Take some time to feel all the feelings and be kind to yourself. Change can be a lot to process.

I don't usually comment on videos, but as someone who is also renting a place (with 2 friends and 1 sister, ha) and is not lucky enough to have option to buy something for myself in near or far future - damn, I'm getting emotional for this all. When we first moved in current flat it was so so empty and even if I bought some bookshelves now, a desk, chair, all I can think about is how hard it will be to move those things when the owner wants us out of here. So from some girl in Poland who is also struggling with making place a home - You got this, We'll try to help you in any way that we can! ❤

Goodbye old house, thankyou for the memories 🥺 Thankyou guys for letting us into your cute bedroom and giving us such fun, warm times. Feel emotional with this video, been watching you for so long. I'm gonna miss the cosy bed with all the art supplies on. But on the positive, new house still looks cosy. Heres to new beginnings ✨ So much luck to you both!

It always hits me, with such strange feeling, the thought of being able to care for and feel connected to someone who have never met you, talked to you or know much about you. But you still feel like you know them like some of your best friends... This video made me tear up from the first clip to the last. I really always hope the best for both of you, that your best days will always overshadow your hardest. Thank you for sharing moments of everything, how ever small or big, but always very real, honest, kind and humble. "20 seconds and that's it" sometimes that's everything you need

I know you are probably getting soo many comments trying to tell you how to film and what to do and I really understand if you don't want any more suggestions. So, if that's the case: I wish you all the best for this year and I hope Steph gets to feel a little less stressed and that both of you find a way to just get some rest and have good time this spring! Your videos are always so much fun to watch (oh, all the memories from watching this...). You deserve joy and safety and comfort!! If you are up for one more (more or less helpful) recommendation in regards to "cramped" living spaces: 1. get some of those big (kind of ugly) heavy-duty racks (you can get them at hardware stores and ikea but other places as well - I think amazon even has them and delivers them right to your door) and put them along one entire wall of the room. These give you a lot of depth for storage (up to 60cm I think). 2. get some fabric with a pattern you really like that is big enough to cover the wall like a curtain (can also be two or three pieces of fabric) 3. either hang these fabrics directly in front of the racks all across the room like a giant curtain (lots of options for hanging systems on amazon), or cut the fabric to the size of the shelves/racks and just tie (or glue) them to the top of each one individually. (I've got some where the fabric is attached to the shelves with velcro tape, if I need access to the whole shelf, I can take the curtain down and re-attach it afterwards). The plus of using heavy-duty racks is their size (they usually have more depth than normal shelves) and the plus for the curtains is that you are so free to choose something you like (and you can change it whenever); it might be easier to get cheap-ish bed sheets with cute patterns instead of buying new fabric. The result is one entire wall of semi-built-in closet space. I do hope that this description makes sense. I tried my best to, words can be hard... Again, all the best to both of you and good luck with the new flat!

OMG you scared me 😮, reading the title I thought you were leaving KZfaq. My stomach dropped. Phew. I don’t think you know how much you both mean to us all. I play your videos over and over. Sometimes just as back ground while I paint, and I actually fall asleep to them. I know times are hard right now, but the future is bright for you both. Thank you for the years of memories, and the ones to come. ❤
