Hello, in your area in Texas tegus could easily brumate outdoor with no problems, at least those from south Argentina. Bert Langerwerf, a famous tegu keeper from Montevallo, central Alabama, used to leave all his argentine b/w and red tegus outdoor year round. They brumated for 6 months and he used to reproduce hundreds. He also reproduced many other lizards species, always outdoor. We miss you Bert 😢

So many lizards. My girl is 2.5 years old now. She brumated the last two years, but this year she doesnt show any signs of slowing down. She still is active and basking every day, and she still eats every day too. Can they decide to not brumate, or should I try to force her to go into brumation by not feeding her?

What about blue tegus? Do they brumate? If so, is it like Argentine b&w brumation? I'm reading conflicting things.
