It's been a whirlwind of a summer set with Modern Horizons 3, and even though it feels like we just welcomed it to Arena, it's time to say goodbye. So, let's get 50 minutes on the clock and rattle off as much info as we can about the format including power rankings, how to cook with the synergies in the set, and our Golden Egg and Imperial Oath Award winners!

I’m not gonna lie I feel like the green black counters archetype is better than you give it credit for, I’ve seen so many videos from justlolaman absolutely crushing with the archetype but protecting your creatures and recursion with evolving witness is just really important.

I've had the same experiences myself. It feels like as long as you have one or two witnesses, the deck really came together

Ive had plenty of great experiences with victimize! I've had it especially shine in abzan, the plainscycling angel is a great target. Admittedly, you want good creatures with good etbs, but its not too hard to build around. My best deck with it was mono black with two Crabominations and two of the cycling eldrazi, absolutely gross

i am currently having so much fun with a deck with 2 Essence Reliquary 2 unstable amulet and a ajani to top it off. i just had a game with all of them out and a guide of souls, nearly decked myself and cast ajani like 15 times and flipped him twice. dont draft MH3 to win, draft it to do the impossible (i did win though)

Only 5 ponts in so far, but the bullet point sound effect is very distracting as an audio only listener. Maybe make it a bit quiter or just not quite as goofy, pulls me right out of my flow.

My favorite Essence Reliquary combo is Phlage, if you're lucky enough to get it. A lightning helix every turn for 3 mana each is close to unbeatable. Ajani Saga is also nuts and better against Eldrazi.

Surprised to hear the feeling about Victimize- I’ve never been passed it and every time my opponent has played it, it’s crushed me

It's winrate is pretty bad and I've seen it 7th+ pick multiple times. When it really works it's awesome but if you don't play it yourself you don't get to see the times where they have 2 stuck in hand with no targets. Or they have a transmogrant and a 2 drop in graveyard and a 4 drop on board. Or they need to stabilise and can't afford sacrificing board presence because the reanimated things come in tapped. My experience has been pretty mixed as a result.

Second the disappointment on Cursed Wombat. Had 4 of them yesterday after a pack and a half of draft, sublime consistency, and they still rarely popped off. Too easy to break up with removal or brick wall by late game Eldrazi.

Felt like the Eldrazi (RG) decks really overshadowed the rest of the set from a drafting perspective, I lost interest in drafting the set early on and I am always drafting every set. Didn't enjoy the flavor of the set too much, either.

This was the headliner for the first few weeks, but it did end up being a pretty diverse and interesting format once the majority of tables knew not to pass chrysalis.

I just got back to drafting from a 2 year hiatus and i've been enjoying this MH3 very much, its so sad to see it go away so soon, wtf is WoTC doing? Printing new sets all the time, i'll probably quit again after MH3 goes away.

"Look, I like Path and I'ma let you finish, but Kozilek's Unsealing had the best utility of all time". 1 mana cheaper, 2 dorks for every 4-6 drop and a refresh of the hand is hands down better than turning your already mana scalets into dorks. I've used em both somewhat "frequently" and the unsealing I think has gotten me to where I need to be more times than the Path.
