In this video you will see me saying goodbye to the trees and enjoying them for one more time. Since you know probably.. with 1.24 update coming out we are losing around 70% trees. Meaning we will not be able to climb them anymore and use them for sniping or storage. Why? Well, I don't know. It is suppose to help the server performance but I don't really think that changing collision for trees will crazy increase the performance, knowing the fact they didn't really change a lot of collision. In my opinion, they literally cut off the branches which usually was helping to get onto the trees.. However, it is what it is.

I really enjoyed your edited video. Other than the occasional sound desync that wasn't bad at all, i liked how you did. Its really to bad about the trees. I just now started trying to use them thanks to you.

Well, let’s be honest, according to the last few updates, since adding toxic zones, devs started their movement to changing the game concepts. From this moment, players got some sort of a little goal and direction. It had a strong impact on players plan for game. And after this, it may seem, that devs started trying to analyse and change the players’ movements across the map, their plans for the game. For me it seems like trying not only to make players act more agressive, take part in more direct fightings(which can be considered by adding a lot of new type of weapons, especially without special supressers). And it’s sad, cause in my opinion, dayz with every each update is becoming like just common online shooters. And yet, we still didn’t get any changes in making bases. All the recent content maybe worthy for smb. As for me, it’s awful. Of course, more active playstyle would attract more people to the game, it will make Bohemia market positions stronger…But it’s awful. Several years ago I had started playing at totally another game, the survival game, with its own conditions ,and I don’t like its changes. They make us to prioritise the playstyle, which we can find in any other online shooter, but it’s not that many of us need. 😢

Actually I don’t understand devs. Yes, agree with them that trees are affecting somehow performance but then made them straight line. I mean collision, make straight line so players can’t run through them but what is the point cut of only bellow branches?! I actually checked under diag and I can notice that most of the trees are just cut around.. feels like they done it on purpose even though they mentioned me in two dayz spotlight articles and said, they would like to see more creativity likes this.

I feel like the devs just change things that bother THEM personally. They probably dies one to many times to people hiding in trees and said "fuk that" and changed it

Lets see, I didn't try the experimental editor to see how the trees behave. Some of the big round bushes will be the same! Also we might be able to stand on the tree trunk now... line in the middle of the tree!

We can say 'thank you' to devs. I understand that they wanted improve the performance on the servers but they could probably done it a bit different.

Look at how badass and interesting this feature is. And look at how negligable and non-existent the reasons they are removing it are. I have never had problem with performance when shooting in the forest. Aren't there separate player collission and bullet hitboxes? And I have only ever had problems with tree collision maybe three times in eleven years. Give us a proper solution which is not easy with the cost of ruining our fun please.

I think it is something as well with not strong pc. Majority have weak pc and maybe that’s why.

@@doseofdayz I had a weak pc for many many years. I never had a problem ever shooting in the forests. The only problem I had was with lights, flares and stuff. And I don't see them remove all lamps from the game for performance reasons... And I think the performance boost comes from the BULLET hitbox being simplified, not the player climbing hitbox.

Hey Dave, yes I remember you. Of course I’m still playing (only lately I didn’t play a lot because of work). Just because they remove trees doesn’t mean I’m not planning play again 😅. Climbing a tree and perching up in it is about one of the most realistic things u can do lol. Although yeah in real life, it would be more difficult to operate your weapon like that but would still work

1.24 will come out and they are changing collision for trees .. how bullet impact them etc. Wobo has great video where he explains that. However, when they were changing collision etc, they somehow change the whole skeleton of tree.. and now you can’t jump anymore on some branches.. and what it makes more strange is that.. all lower branches are removed. Technically you can still walk on top of the trees.. it is just impossible to get on them.

@@RKLIFE17 They specifically said "gameplay will stay the same" and that only performance will increase. That was the biggest lie ever. It makes no sense what they are doing with the trees, they are completely destroying one of the most impressive features in the game for close to NO apparent benefit. And it seems to me they easily could work around it. I'd rather have them delete 1.24 and never release it than do this.

from gtranslate I figure out that he is unhappy about collision removal and now he is not playing anymore@@doseofdayz Anyway, I think they have increased also the inertia, as I find it harder to jump on some tress, branches that still exist. Is like you jump on them and then the inertia pulls you off the branch! They have made it a lot harder.
