My absolute favorite part of this song is when Ken does his solo and then Pablo does this heart wrenching adlib in the background. I know most people were like Ken, Ken, Ken - and I don't blame them, Ken's voice is really something else. BUT while Ken delivered the vocal, Pablo delivered the emotion with just that adlibs alone.

Oh yeees ….from Ken’ s moment to the big moment MALABO lifted our souls and feet off the ground! This is a masterpiece song!

You are so right about Pablo’s vowel modification. He did some of that also in Mana. It was a great choice. Ken also sometimes does that in his higher notes.

It is such a treat watching ILAW with you. I learned those subtle differences from their studio recordings that I missed. Watching them perform live is such a treat.

You are right, we do not say it that way, in a coversation the O in "sino, ko and malabo, even pinto" are full O sounds but Pablo's way of singing it has a bit of an 'Ah' at the end. I've found that other coaches only value certain kinds of vocals (and don't have anything good to say about my boy, Josh), while you also factor in and appreciate other aspects that contribute to a performance. Aside from GENTO and I WANT YOU, they sang ILAW (released after eight months), and LIHAM, which remains unreleased. LIHAM is my favorite song, so I'm telling myself that Wish Bus is saving the best for last. [7:57] Wasn't it Josh singing on the harmony here? [10:25] You're thinking of their Wish USA Bus performance of LIHAM, where Ken's leading part in the final chorus was tucked back in the mix and so came off a little "malabo" (ha ha!) To clearly hear Ken's glorious tones in that part, I encourage you to check out their "Round Festival 2023 Live Showcase" (if you want them in a seated environment a la Wish Bus) and/or their very recent performance in Abra province (if you prefer a concert-type setting).
