I agree with EZ that if a singer lipsynched here in PH some fans will cancel them because there are lots of good and talented singers here.. only those who lipsynched are actors who dont really sing.. so if you are a singer you do acapella and live performances in shows and concerts 🙂.. It doesn’t matter if you have pharyngitis, or if you’re about to faint because you feel ill, when you step on that stage and introduce yourself as a singer, boy, you better sing live. If you can’t, don’t even hold the mic. Filipinos are the most critical audience you can find out there. But give them a good show, they will show you support you’ve never felt in your life. Just like how A’TIN support SB19 and their kind reactors.

That's a fact Lipsync here in the Philippines is like a sin for singers Only actors promoting their shows do that that's why natural vocal talent is really a treasure and a big thing here The standard for singers is high Natural or no filtered performances for artists is well preserved here in our country That's a flex for us

5:47 - 5:57 - That's right. PH has high standards for raw, live singing because there are myriad of great singers in the country. If you are a pro singer/vocal artist and you lip sync or use auto tune, that's a nose dive for your career.

Thanks for the rv 💙. SB19 are monster live performers. Their live vocals, energy while performing are always topnotch. You're right, lip syncing here in PH is like a crime for legit singers. Those who do lip sync in tv guestings were those who are not real singers, like actors that just need to perform to promote their shows.

I agree! Singing standard in the Philippines is real high. That’s why there are lots of great singers here but only few can make it to spotlight and stay in it for a long time. And it’s better to make some mistakes on live performances than to make them realize that you’re just lip syncing (unless you’re an actor guesting in tv show) Also, if you’re already good with your talents, people will now look at your character, your personality. If you don’t have that good personality even if you’re really a great singer, then you’ll still not gonna make it.

Love SB19's live performances - they always give their 100% and never disappoint! Not a pop band but an indie-folk band, you might want to check out Ben&Ben on the Wish Bus ("Araw-Araw", "Ride Home", "Leaves", "Kathang Isip" are some of their famous songs), if you still haven't. Another emerging artist (not a band/group) worth checking out is alt-pop singer Zack Tabudlo. He performs "Nangangamba", "Cruel", "Binibini" on the Wish Bus,.

When you go to stay in hotels in the Philippines there's always a bar or some kind of lounge and you can listen to live Filipino band or singers who are not even famous but they sing so well. SB19 is of course in another level !

Damn right about lip-synching hahaha! That could be because here in the Philippines, a lot of us can really sing (sorry, i'm not trying to sound arrogant, but that's a fact). Imagine waking up at 8am to your neighbor's karaoke singing hahaha. That's why so much is expected from professional singers and performers. Singing with a track is fine, especially when dancing is involved, but lip-synching is a major no-no!

Yes, here in the Philippines, Singers are being taken seriously, be it amateurs or professionals. You're not allowed to call yourself "singers" if you don't have the voice to sing! Otherwise, if you do have a nerve to call yourself as one without the proper vocals, then you have probably trying hard to be funny and by that, can be passable as comedian.

Thanks for your reaction, EZ and Flacko. Since you are Latino, I was wondering whether you would be interested in reacting to a P-pop group that has a song that has some Spanish words in it. It’s a cover of a song from 9 or 10 years ago. The group is called Alamat, and they are fairly young. The name of the song is Porque, and the song is sung in 2 Filipino languages-Tagalog, which is the national language, and Chavacano, which has a lot of Spanish words in it and is spoken in the southern part of the Philippines. This song is slower and does not have the hard edge of other songs, but I thought you might be interested in reacting to it. Thanks in advance!

Porque is in my playlist and I sing it a lot. Chavacano is like a Spanish creole It's about 75% Spanish and the rest is native (hopefully I got that right) I saw a documentary about it. Why is it that although Ph was occupied by SPANIARDS for 333 years, Pinoys are more English speaking and Zamboanga is the only place in Ph where Spanish is still spoken.
