Manananggal is a mythical creature in the Philippines a scary monster. 😅 Pablo being Pablo, playful writer that he is, chose the manananggal to refer to themselves dealing with fame. The manananggal is a human by day, that grows bat-like wings at night and flies off with only half its body (waist-up), leaving their lower body on the ground. Pablo used this analogy to say that as they grow more famous, they will always be humble and will still have their feet on their ground. It indicates how playful they are and not so conscious to always be perfect.👏

other than the "soar high but still remained grounded" analogy that Pablo wanted to express, the creature manananggal preys on the sleeping. the word mana as in gift or inheritance, combined them both, the message of the song also is about "do not sleep on our talent because we have the gift." Glad you finally listed to the song! :>

The feet works and dance steps for Mana is just 🔥🔥🔥 Learning about Pablo’s analogy to the mythical ‘manananggal’, made me love this song of theirs. There was a time that A’Tin had made #manaSUPREMACY trend. Very underrated song in their EP though - no mv, not even a lyric video?!!! 😢 but this was Pablo’s, Justin and Ken’s fave in the Pagsibol EP.
