Remaster is accurate enough since they will be improving the graphics and framerate. As for ""HD port", the game was already in high definition, and in some cases (like pc) it won't even be a port - it'll just be an alternate version. So that wouldn't be accurate.

But graphics aren't being improved, it was already stated that there would be no new assets.

It's pretty cool, but weirdly, despite the fact that I'm mainly a PC gamer, I don't really care when a game is locked to 30, even though I notice the difference. More is better, sure, but I'd much rather have a stable FPS than one that's high, but all over the place. Then again, DS1 had neither, so I'm pretty hyped about the game being optimized in the first place.

They didn't do it for SOTFS, so I doubt they'll do it here...

God, that shit was awful. People might have complained about the original Dark Souls 2, but SOTFS on the PS4 was way worse. "Hey, everyone seems to be having a problem with what Dark Souls 2 is doing with spamming enemy placement, let's add more spam, that will fix it!" Amongst other issues.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Soul Memory system. I had heard that SM was pretty much the worst part of DS2, so for some reason I thought they had gotten rid of it for SOTFS. But it looks like they haven't even bothered to change the summoning range. I ended up going through SOTFS with very few summons or invasions because of all the times I fought through certain areas (especially in Huntsman's Copse), which kept on increasing my SM. I'm now at the point where I'm thinking of deleting my first save file and starting over just so that I have the ability to do some of the Covenant stuff.

Ow, yeah. I didn't even bother trying to do online for DkS2 simply because of SM. I always forget about it because I don't even try to do any of the online components. Usually can only do so in NG+, where apparently the SM and SL requirements are removed, and then it is just SM. NG, it follows similar if not same rules as SL, with added bullshit of SM. NG+ Removes the SL Limits, which leads to a greater problem of players that have set themselves at a set low level are invaded by maxed levels. Buttface Havels were a thing/problem if I recall years ago, not sure if that ever changed. It's why I didn't buy it when it came out, and I only bought it about a few months ago. Do the online for Dark Souls 1 Instead, DkS2's online is for NG+ Only.

Wesley Darnell the jump mechanic is as also tied to fps. you just wont be able to do certain jumps at 60fps

I'd want the final bosses touched up more than anything. Gwyn, Nito, and Seath are all too slow and boring (by DS 1 standards). The Bed of Bullshit is just...yeah. I'm fine with the Four Kings as is though. Imagine if Izalith was a fire based Friede who changes into some kind of demon/bug/tree for her second phase.

Mr Fiddlesticks I've already bought this game twice, once for console and the other for PC. Paying full price for something that is little more than a graphical update is unnecessary considering there are mods out there that do exactly the same thing. If there were actual improvements to the game like actually finishing Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith, remaking Bed of Chaos, fixing the Gravelord Covenant, adding in cut dialogue, fixing PvP or hell as Plague said remaking the game with the DS3 engine I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Nothing is wrong with wanting that but to me it's not really enough and there aren't that many bugs that I can think of in DS1 people hate, 6 player PVP isn't that interesting as it's basically just the easy mode people have been not wanting and unless you can get invaded by 4-5 people at once black phantoms are no longer going to be a thing anymore with how hard they are going to get ganked and I doubt there isn't going to be more falling through the floor day one. The one interesting thing about this is being able to play Dark Souls on the go but even then why would you seeing as you can't pause the game, I guess if you want to bring it over to a friends house it would be cool but I can't see you playing it on like a bus or while you wait for something like other handheld games.

Linkfreak 404 there's one area in the game where you can fall through the floor and unless you're a fucking idiot it shouldn't be too hard to not slide down a ladder which is what causes it. It's a piece of shit cash grab that absolutely does not need to exist. Plain and simple.

No there is a reason to add new things, its just that giving 6 player co-op isn't one. For example fixing lost izealith from being a sloppily put together and rushed area that everyone universally hates, finishing quest lines that they dropped that would have made characters more important ( The first character you meet was supposed to be a rival of sorts and that would be a lot more interesting then some smuch that dies to the first boss ), fixing covenants or improving ones that were worthless to make them more interesting to join and including a new area to explore and expand on the lore just a bit more but not over doing it. Unfortunately they aren't doing any of that and instead just porting over Dark Souls: Easy Mode edition.
