I love his explanation of Shakotan and why he loves it. Stance gets a negative view from a lot of people in the US. Basically if you're not building a car to go in a straight line, you're doing it wrong. Shakotan to me is when low, wide, and deep fitment meet function!

+Spotless Auto Detailing LOL what???? Your telling me 90% of those stance cars aren't just driving in a straight line? I think what youre missing is we hate stance kids because they don't do anything with their cars but buy expensive wheels and park them in walmart parking lots to meet with other kids who buy expensive wheels. And its not that we don't like "shakotan" drifting, but most of the dude with over lowered 240s suck at driving. If you shred, you're cool. If your cars on the ground and you STILL can kill it. Then you're even cooler. But over-lowered and under performing is not enjoyable for anyone except instagram fanbois.

+Josh Dietrich half the cars in this video were at a normal "drift" ride height anyway. That stupid excessive camber purple 240 was beatsauce tho.

Best vid ever, I mean you're really show us the message, what I wanted to see and know I begin to understand why so many people dare to do this (shakotan drift, bad stance drift). Japan is full of uniqueness, and always be no 1 in style! Keep up the great work Yusuke-san!
Long time since I had a 車高短. Sure it was under-performing but, it had great looks. What I can't forget is the bitter taste of constant repairs to the underside of the car, several times welding the oil sump and various other issues. What can I say, you have to pay for the looks, don't ya...
It's interesting that over there, stance culture seems to be the minority as opposed to western countries. For westerners, stance has taken over and function is the minority.

to tell the truth, drifting and stance (called "shakotan:車高短" in Japan) both have large popularity in Jpn.But who take on both style are minority. (sorry for my poor English.)

In the States or at least southern California, stance drifting is a common thing and competition setups are the the minority.glideon thevibes

oh,I know that. In many drifting film from US, stanced car drift loosely and steezly. the motion is really cool. But in Japan. people prefer quick action to drift through tight corners in Touge or do tandem drifting closely. So gaining traction is really important factor and stance is conflictwith that.
