Even though RC Drones have really taken the spotlight in the RC world, I personally LOVE the way a helicopter looks in the sky way more than a drone. Part of being a big kid and using your imagination is pretending like what you are flying is real, and you're on a rescue mission to save lives .. or something like that :-) This hobby means so many things to so many people, and to some of us it's just bringing back fun memories from when we were kids. This helicopter has a way of doing that for me. Not only all of these great feel goods, but it actually performs exceptionally well for the price! As you'll see in this flight video, I even pull off some inverted flight, on a single cell LiPo!! Who would have thought?!!?? Good morning Saylors! Oh, I like this Heli! But, most of all, your presentation of it (so smoooooth;), to the "RC family that you have put together - it's so cool!" Guys when it comes to installing the blades, make sure they are not too tight or too loose, either way can have bad effects on the flight, you want the blades so if you touch them they can move without pushing the heli over, but you don't want them flopping, lol I hope that makes sense..

I'm liking the XK gear and love that Heli. It looks great and fly's really well. It was great to see Nate have a go with inverted flight! I love heli's so will definitely be adding this one to the wish list. PS My stickers arrived lat week - thanks!

I have both this one and the K123 tri-blade heli, they both have the same capabilities, I mainly got them as gorgeous show pieces though! If you want to practice flybarless flight, I recommend something more like the Esky F150, it's cheaper to rebuy if you crash it!

As usual a fantastic Video!:-) Isn't it amazing?! I remember having a matchbox Bell Jet Ranger as a kid in the late 80's and day dreaming about it being able to fly. Never would I have though it possible! I was in the hobby 20 years ago when electric helicopters were more or less in their infancy and even then a micro scale collective pitch heli was something that you maybe saw in a model magazine Review about some serious tech head who scratch built one that could barely fly. Now they cost less than a tank of petrol and fly like a dream. Mind boggling!

Amazing what rc helicopters have come to. By the way, helicopters and drones are less efficient in hover than in slow forward flight. Flight time will be longer in slow forward flight:)

Too cool! If I were to get one, I'd have to paint it up like a Vanderbilt Life Flight EC-145...such as tail N101VU...or like an Army UH-72 Lakota. :)

Great job as usual guys I haven't flown a Heli since my Trex 250 and 500 years ago I was eyeing this this model on banggood just wish they made it with an Airwolf fuselage keep up the great work as a suggestion you guys should really try out the bugs 3 mini quite the little rocket sled!

Hey Nate, really great Helicopter. I’ve got a couple of XK quads and planes... would love to get this Helicopter. Could do a very short video on how you flipped inverted, ie. how did you do the roll flip and then full inverted. I know you said you turned off stabilization which switch is that? And probably most importantly your stick movements. I’ve got XK’s 7 & 8 transmitters, which one does this Helicopter come with? Thanks for all your awesome videos

Hey Harold! I can't remember exactly which switch it was, but it was one of the two on the left to turn off the stabilization. I think the other allows you to fly upside down, at 50% or less throttle. It's a matter of doing half a flip, then flying with "reverse" throttle while you are inverted. Maybe I'll try to make a video on the subject. Happy Flying my friend!

Have a question. I'm torn between the xk k 123 and 124. Does the 4 blade make it a lot more stable? I like the 3 blade body better. I prefer slow and steady.

helicopters that are capable of inverted flight have symmetric blades. stabilized helis have curved blades. that way they can create lift more efficiently but only in one direction.

he's probbably going to mention it in the video. but to turn the stabalisation off. you need to land ofcourse if you bind it to a diffrent controller. that might not be required anymore

You need to program the the throttle hold to a percentage in the TX

After crashing, be sure to check your main gear for stripping and the swashplate linkages. You can check blade pitch and servo travel by switching your throttle hold and moving the sticks around, especially the throttle stick up and down. That’s what throttle hold is really useful for. And lastly, make sure your tail blade doesn’t fly off . This thing sounds like my little Walkera Genius. I really like this Eurocopter canopy too. 🤓

Hi i have been using 3.7v 700mah lipos for the past 8 months for my k124. But recently the only replacement i found is 3.7v 800mah. Do u think the heli can take it? If it can, any changes i can expect in terms of performance and durability?

It's a really great helicopter and holding up well. It performs better than you would think based on it's looks. Now, my friend owns this and has flown it probably around ten more times and he is enjoying it quite a bit from what he tells me! Though, he doesn't fly inverted or anything. Happy Flying!

Well, you guys suckered me in to a good time. I ordered mine the same day as the comment below. I think this will be so much fun and I have studied the transmitter tuning to tailor flight. Also ordered with a spare tail rotor motor which are not as long lived. Tail motor shipped but not the copter. Probably high demand and I will be patient.

Helicopters and crashing go hand in hand. Even the pros crash on a regular basis and their repairs add way up when you start getting into 700mm - 800mm Carbon main rotors.

Hi Nate. A by. How hard is this to fly? We all know that Quads are for everyone. And Fixed pitch are pretty easy too. Collective pitch, I have no idea. It I really want to add a scale heli to my collection. I've got an Estes Apache Attack IFR co-ax in about 1/72 scale maybe. But its infrared indoor only. But this looks cool. Almost like it could be a Shelf Queen. WE DON'T BELIEVE IN THEM!!! This? Its probably a " Must Have "?

Power star x1 helicopter is the one that I recommend to you for beginners and it takes a beating. I 1st started with the cheap$20 heli than I got hooked and I went to buy a 230S maybe$450 and I didn't even get off the ground I moved the pitch. Blade hit the ground and had to rebuild . I thought bigger was better plus no experience flying6 channel wish I would have gotten the x1 powerstar. When I started....or gotten the simulator for p.c.

Simulators for helicopters are almost a must for a majority of people wanting to get in to this part of the hobby. I still have LOT to learn, and probably won't even be amazing at flying them, but I do enjoy it when I have the opportunity! Happy Flying Jionni!
