I'm looking at getting a scales after my turing machine kit arrives and i do currently have a metropolis. At the end there if i change the sliders on the metropolis would it automatically change on the scales. like if i had a-b-c-d on metro and scales and changed metro to a-b-c-d#, would scales read a-b-c-d-d#?

No, Scales would not automatically update if you changed your scale on Metropolis. But if you had Metropolis and the Turing Machine running through Scales in Dual Quantizer Mode you could just change scales on Scales and that would simultaneously change the scale for both inputs.

So A and B can both have Trig IN but Trig OUT is both or either? Right? So if A and B notes want to be played at seperate times, B trigger needs to be multed to EG before it goes into Scales? Figured there’d be 2 trigs in and 2 out. Not a huge deal tho just sayin

If you want to trigger A & B at separate times, your best bet is probably to use separate trigger sources and envelope generators for each voice. The second video gets into how to best use both the A & B outs with two oscillators.

I'm not clear on root note changes. If you hold a key to change the root note but the scale stays the same, what is Scales doing here and how does that change the notes coming out of it? It's still just translating voltage to musical note (0v to C, 0.16V to D, etc), or am I missing something?

Changing the root note but maintaining the selected notes is not changing the notes coming out, but if you change scales or transpose by root note around that new root note it will make a difference. So it's less about what it does and more about what it will do. I play around with changing root notes and transposing around root notes in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNKokqx3p7nSZn0.html

@@DavidZisa One of the scales developers here... there's two scenarios where you may want to change the root note. One is you have a scale that's already rooted on one note, for example a C major, but want to use the same scale pattern but with a different root, say D. So you'd push D and all those notes shift around and now you'd have a D major scale. The other case is where you actually want to interpret the same scale pattern a different way. In this case you'd long press the D and you'd change the location of the scale root without shifting the scale, in this case you'd end up with a D dorian scale.
