I don't normally get the answers to these riddles quickly, but I got this one in 30 seconds

The card trick is easy. if you watch it in slow motion, you can see him stand up and pull out his wallet from his back pocket and switch the card with one in his wallet and then he puts the wallet back in his back pocket and sits back down and takes a sip of his drink, each time while he is flipping the cards over. At normal speed, it happens too quick for you to notice.

The worst riddles are ones I know I've seen before but can't remember the answers to, nor can I figure it out on my own!

out the year's of scam school I've watched this is only the second time I figured out the answer before they gave it. I feel accomplished

I've actually seen Diamond Jim Tyler perform that 3-card monte trick in person. He gave a lecture in Raleigh about 2 years ago, and he did that and many other tricks.

Halfway through the video and Brian already explained the logic of why one of them will know for certain the color of their hats and then doesn't points to the right guy.

Brian knew the answer without knowing that he knew the answer. But I knew that he knew the answer and did not know that he knew the answer. Reminds me of a puzzle with 4 guys and hats where the second guy knows that the first guy does not know the answer. This leads the second guy to know that he does know the answer, even though there is no way that he has enough information visible to know the answer.

It's the middle or the back: Reason. The guy in the back could see if there were two hats of the same color in front of him. If the guy in the middle waited, and the guy behind him didn't respond, than there are two different color hats on him and the guy in front of him, and he would know the answer because of the fact he has the different color than the guy in front of him. The guy secluded, and the guy facing the wall are just screwed because they don't see anything other than the wall.

I GOT IT! and so did Brian, he just didn't translate the silence to the the middle guy.

I find it amusing how Brian is so close to the answer for such a long tome.

I'm assuming they explained this in the video but Brian definitely knew what was up. He stated what the first guy knew which when applied to the second guy solves the riddle. The second guy knows that the back guy sees two different hats or he would know what his hat is. Therefore the second guy knows his hat is just the opposite of the guy in front of him

For the monty routine: It's a really old gimmick,Mark Mason, Eric Jones, Josh Janousky and many others have work on it. It can be aplified in many tricks and routines.

That guy should go on fool us with that trick.

I think I know how Diamond Jim does the monte trick. There's a trick I learned years ago that I think uses a similar method, at least for the snap change part.

Hazaa! I got one! (which is hacker code for "this was too damn easy"). BUT....... I see how C and B can figure out the color of their hats, but A & D are screwed.

I saw this riddle a few weeks ago

The hats are drawn with brims. They can just look up at the brim of their hat. Even the guy behind the wall can see the color of the hat he's wearing.

Brian was on the right track. Second person says white because third person did not answer, realizing his hat must be different from first mans hat.

I'm at 2:32 and I think the answer is that the guy in the middle knows from the absence of an answer from the person behind him that he has to have the opposite color hat of the person in front of him.

This is so much easier than that one with three people and five hats.

I figured this out in about a minute.

I paused the video before the answer, but I thought Mr. C would know simply because of the position he was in. If he had been put at the back then it's safe to assume he would have seen 2 black hats in front of him, therefore knowing through process of elimination that he as well as the guy on the other side of the wall "Mr. A" would each have white hats. So his very position should be a good indicator to him that the order of the hats are staggered.

Solved it. Brian kept talking about negative information and kept going around one character.

Oh, i figured out that B and C could call out the right color of their hat, but didn't know how A and D could figure their hat color out. I totally overlooked, that there is only a need for one guy to call out his hat color.

At 9:11 you can see he has a 4th card. It looks like he's slipping it under the joker either when he flips it around or when he grabs it.

For the hat riddle I thought they were supposed to tell EVERY hat color and I ALMOST LOST MY MIND OVER IT! then after I gave up on the riddle and checked the video, thinking (there is no way there can be a solution to this), he just said this guy knows his hat color -_- THAT WASN'T EVEN AN AVERAGE LEVEL RIDDLE!

I got this so fast but I thought they had to say the colour of everyone's hats so I stared at my phone for like 20 minutes like how is this possible, guess it isn't

I've heard a variation of this. It involves 3 prisoners and the warden. The warden has a bag of 5 discs 2 black and 3 white. The prisoners know about all 5 discs. One disc is placed at random on their back so they don't know their color. They're able to walk around freely to see the other two colors but can't view their own and again they can't communicate. Only the person who communicates their color will survive the rest will die.

I figured this out in about 2 minutes, pretty easy actually.

The hat puzzle is so simple. The second guy is the one who knows. The first guy has a clue that the ome behind him has a different color because of the third one's silence. So the second gut has the same hint, but he sees that the one before him has a black hat. So he must have a different color wich is white.

Yea, figured it out in like three min. tops. Middle guy looks at person in front of him and shouts the opposite color, otherwise the guy behind him would shout it if the middle guy was matching the guy in front of him.

My favorite thing about Scam School, is that it doesn't resort to the lame "TV-ONLY" magic, such as, "watch me do something amazing, I will just cover up the TV camera for a while so you can't see anything and when we remove the cover, you will be amazed!". To me, that "TV Magic" is as pointless as "Look at this, now close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you to, okay now open your eyes. Wow! I made something disappear!". An example of this, was making a Tank disappear, by covering up the camera and then rolling the camera to another alleyway that didn't have the tank, and then removing the cover from the camera. That isn't magic, that's the equivalent of video editing and it doesn't fool anyone.

I knew the answer and when brian said the guy facing the wall knows the hat is different I thought he would get it but he didn't see it even though he got the hard part.
