Scan and OCR anything with an iPhone for free (Adobe, Office, Prizmo)

In this tutorial, we cover three of the best free optical character recognition (OCR) scanners for iPhones. Adobe Scan, Office Lens, and Prizmo Go.

Sorry I couldn't get up this video sooner! School has been a bit rough and I'm also starting the recruitment season (hopefully, I can update on that in the future).
These scanning softwares are really useful if you want to listen to a quick document, but don't have time to bring it to a scanner, etc. I personally like Adobe the best, but the other two are also quite decent.

I'm supposing that you can take 25 scanned pages and :stitch them together in google docs with another 25 pages and so on, right?

Can this work in any language like filipino?

Adobe scan says it supports multiple languages (doesn’t say which ones on the site I looked up), office lens has a list of languages support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/microsoft-office-lens-for-android-ec124207-0049-4201-afaf-b5874a8e6f2b that does not include Filipino, and prizmo also has language support, but it also seems to be missing Filipino. However, it’s worth trying. In addition, you may be able to take a picture and run it through google translate instead since modern Filipino uses Latin letters. The text to speech might be off, but the ocr may work. The google translate app also does translations of images and it includes Filipino. Does any of that help? No app will probably be able to do all languages, but google translate has a lot.

If someone is visually impaired or blind this wouldn’t work for them is it anyway you can update showing how to use or how it could be used by a person especially impaired or blind

I could, but I’m not as good at that kind of work. I personally have a reading disability, so that’s why I focused on that. I don’t want to over extend into areas where my knowledge is limited. If you email me I’ll take a look, but I may not get to it since I haven’t been active in a bit.

I’m looking at my Adobe scan app and it’s pretty similar to the one I used in the video (some small updates). Could you 1. Send me some screenshots of what exactly you see when you open it. 2. Let me know if you’re using an iPhone and where you downloaded it?

I mean the alternative is literally cutting a book open and using a feeder scanner. I’ve done that for longer books, but trust me, tech has come a long way

I believe all are free except prizmo go, which is free, but has a paid version.

Adobe scan for long docs, prizmo go for single pages. I put more detail in here because I’m trying to train people to understand all the various features and quirks (it can be the difference between a good and bad experience).
