The entire purpose behind the spread hacker within thinkorswim is to filter through the millions of options out there and refine it to a small list of spreads you may actually want to trade.
The spread hacker can be used to find vertical spreads, iron condors, butterfly's and various others that meet your criteria right now.

when I try to search using a previously created scan, all my filters say no matches like yours did at the start. what do I have to do to fix that?

When you clicked "Add Filter", the "Underlying Price" filter was replaced by "Back Vol" !!??

How can we filter away unrealistic bids for spreads? There must be a way to tell it I do not want any bids below zero. Can we do a workaround with the option/stock hacker? Or would you recommend another scanner that can do this kind of spread filtering?

If you find a workaround, you’ll need to let me know. I’ve not been able to come up with anything to weed out illiquid spreads other than trying to limit the pop. If you find a fix, let me know!

how do you know the spread + premium is worth taking the trade

That's where you'll have your own personal built in mechanics. The tastytrade method is typically trying to get 1/3rd the width of the spread, others may want more, some less. Everyone out there is trying to find the most optimal risk/reward over the long run, but I definitely don't have it perfected. I'm going to start backtesting more heavily to test some stuff, but tastytrade has a bunch of great videos if you want to learn more!
