I can't get enough of watching these awesome videos of the MD-80

Watching this in 2020 because I now have an MD-88 in my flight simulator (X-Plane 11) and it got me interested in the type and how to operate it. Thanks for the great videos. This is my new favourite airplane. The perfect blend of automation and manual input.

@gdsnuff I believe its the "stabilizer motion" sound. On the MD 11 an electronic voice does say that with this sound. It sounds when flaps are deployed an the trim changes more than usual in a short time.

Unfort. not, they are still on "hdg select" until the last seconds of the last video (4) with the ILS cleancance issued by the controller. But the actual intercept is not on video. ;)

cool! i wish i could ride jumpseat in a flight. In the US we cant do that, FAA and federal law.

At around 6:24 an aicraft is requesting a doctor to the ATC because somebody wasnt doing so well on board.

Mr. Petersen, why the ILS intercept is missing between part 4 and 5? You cut it out?

How do they maintain the a consistent taxi speed without adjusting the throttles.

Are they retiring this aircrafts?
