TM-Spy uses a standard ELM 327 type Bluetooth or WiFi OBDII adapter to decode information from the CAN service plug located below the center display screen. Check the internet for how to access this cable and the specifications for the custom adapter cable required to go from the Tesla 12 pin connector to the standard 16 pin OBDII connector which the ELM 327 adapter plugs into.
'scan my tesla' is an Android app that will connect to a Tesla Model S, 3, X and Y CAN bus, and show and log hundreds of readings. Please note you need a special wiring harness to connect, more details under Adapters.
This app gives you numerous live statistics such as:
- Battery power / voltage / current / temperatures
- Drive Unit electric power / torque / horsepower / RPM / temperatures
- Battery lifetime stats, capacity estimates and mileage
- 12V system current, voltage, temperature
- Trip recording and statistics, including charging
- HVAC controls and readings

Love TMSpy and ScanMyTesla. Have any screenshots of your batter details from these apps before it failed before you had to replace it. And then after. As comparison?

I do not. I purchased the car with the battery already failed, it got trucked directly from the Seller to Recell-EV.com

@KmanAuto thank you, for scan my tesla vs tesla spy, is tesla spy limited to the battery only. there's a big difference in the supported odb II bluetooth dongle $29 vs $139. I need it for what appears to be a deeper diagnostics specially for battery heater error BMS_W035_SW_Isolation

TM-Spy & Scan My Tesla aren't limited specifically to the battery, there is some other information, but the battery, and power systems and HVAC are the majority of it. You will not be able to see anything related to the battery heater with either program or the CAN BUS. You will need the ethernet adapter, Windows laptop with ethernet port, and Toolbox.

Hello Mina and your could-never-be-as-cute sidekick, @kmanauto, I see from his comments he also has an ecohitch and does some trailering as well as powers from the roof. Great minds🙂 His hocus pocus act to pull the cubby was a little beyond me. It looks like his palm was down. I can't see or feel anything down there to grab and pull down. Please help🙂🙏 BTW, AMZN link to '15 MS OBD cable is dead. I found several more, but all ostensibly come from overseas with two-week wait and little quality reporting. Have a new link?

@@chevy481wh Ah ok, swapping trailer between vehicles to extend range and cut down on charging? Good catch! Actually different shirt, but CLOSE! I was charging up after dropping my 24 ft cargo trailer arcade off in my parents driveway (they have big driveway). Brought it to my sons school today as a treat for the last day of Games Club :-) But yes, that was me, and I remember your trailer swap. I was admiring the hitch on the Model S. I have the Eco Hitch on mine, however, the one on that model s seemed much more integrated.
