I totally got the Hawkeye reference. Watching the finale of MASH is one of my earliest memories. I was 5 years old.

I remember going to see Scanners at the movie when I was about six years old and when that guy's head exploded, my mother and I got up and walked out the movie theater. But I would eventually see the movie when I was a teenager.

So weird you did this now. Was watching it with my kiddo yesterday....she was completely engrossed, and her reaction to the beginning was “HOLY WOW OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO AWESOME”. Now she wants to watch the fly. Not sure if I’m ready for her to see that yet, but I love that she loved this one :) She wants to have her own KZfaq channel to review movies now.. :) I’ve told her to watch yours to see how it’s done ;)

When I saw this movie for the first time, I had a hard time liking it because I knew it had so many good ideas but some of them were not completely explained or they weren't well developed throughout the movie... That being said, there's some nice charm to the movie and the way it's acted (Mr. Ironside was my absolute favorite here)... I still watch this movie every once in a while.

I remember going to see this in the theater. That opening scene had me running up the aisle, barreling through the doors and knocking down a girl & her popcorn. I didn't care, I wasn't ready for the head explosion. 😆 Nice job with the Hawkeye reference.

I wathed this movie when I was alone at home when I was about 10 years old. It was a double session of this movie and Lifeforce. Both gave me nightmares, but at least Lifeforce gave me Mathilda May.

There is one odd thing about this movie. In the internet and behind the covers of the movie i have seen a picture where cameron's eyes glow brightly and there is not any scene where it happens. WHY?

3:01 "You know that scene in 'Scanners' when that dude's head blows up?" 8:01 Kudos to the actor for actually unfolding the stock! Most movie people (directors more so than actors) are too gun-stupid to figure out what stocks and sights are for. That's how a lot of gun-related tropes got started. That's also why certain weak politicians actually believe that "conspicuously protruding vertical pistol grips" are designed to facilitate action movie-style hip-fire. XD
