I don't think you have to lift your elbow to get a scap load.

In modern hitting instruction, "scap load" is the flavor the month. It's an attempt to present ideas as new, scientific, modern and advanced by using fancy sounding technical jargon to dazzle the viewer. Actually, if you view a film of Babe Ruth hitting, he used a very pronounced scap load 90 years ago. This despite the fact Ruth probably would have thought a scap load was a cocktail waitress in a speakeasy. What parents and students need to understand is that in hitting, there is nothing new under the sun. Hitting absolutes today are the same as they were 90 years ago. Some Instructors today like to dazzle you with vernacular, some are more simple and direct. Find the one which suits you and your kid best. And understand that this is baseball, not quantum physics. It is not and should not be too terribly complicated. Believe me, I have been involved in baseball for 51 years and some of the most successful people in the game are complete idiots!

The term is simply a name given to the phenomena to which babe Ruth didn’t know what to call. This is probably the best advice as far as the modern day coaching philosophy is concerned. All great hitters. Use scrap load

fancy terms/thoughts that simply happen naturally when your hands load back/front shoulder closes. this is silly.

This is one of the dumbest comments I've ever read on the internet.

Babe Ruth knew it naturally, other people may need it to be explained. “Scap load” is not a bad term, it’s actually pretty accurate. I don’t see anything fancy in it
