Thank you so much, this video helped me identify shoulder and neck pain ive been trying to maasage for almost a year, this helped me realize how big the trap is along with the layers and interconnection of muscles...I just needed massage deeper tissue and also around...my pain has finally subsided after 1 week of constant deep rolling and massaging and strength has already improved!

I'm watching this because I hurt myself. Trying to understand what happened. I have very limited range of motion. I was reaching towards something then pulled back too quickly. I was thinking of going to the doctor but I'll see if it gets better with some rest.

@@alexaang9814 no not really. It might be progressively getting worse my arthritis . Some time after this injury happened they took x-ray and found a piece of loose bone and arthritis.

@@alexaang9814 well from my original statement , from almost no range of motion to present condition yes I've much more range of motion. But it's nowhere near what it was my strength and range from before. And as of now , seems like my other arm which is doing more to compensate might be getting worse. I think it's possibility arthritis in that one. I'm pretty sure I've got it in other joints like my right knee. No longer doing as much manual labor which most likely contributed to all this. Now , I'm employed primarily in non manual work. But I need to find a bit more work .. Have a good amount of debt.

Dr. Morton, you are a legend. I’ve recommend your channel to others in my PA class and we agree your content has improved our grades. Your “Big Picture Anatomy” textbook is also amazing. You are a high yield teacher, which is mandatory with the pace of PA school. Thank you. Also, you have a voice for radio. Maybe consider a podcast if you haven’t already?

Thanks for this , if there is a nerve problem can symptoms mimic a stroke? Dizziness, eye spasm, tingles in Finer’s on both hands and pain at upper back. Both sides of my clients head are affected and the heart has been ruled out , i feel its similar to this... and compromises in the spine causing symptoms

Its amazing we only have the one clavicle bone and just muscles holding up the whole structure/attaching it to the body of the skeleton/ as you call it axial skeleton. Curious what attaches the hip bone to the axial skeleton more precisely it looks to be alot of lat muscles maybe , erector spinator. Its hard to so more precisely yet how the tail bones connected completely to the hip... so if you got a video on that i hope to come across it.

Question ~ on the winged scapula test.. If I as a patient can not feel my serratus anterior muscle in order to use it and push against the wall.. Is there another test? Will this one even be accurate?? Thank you for the info!
@TheNotedAnatomist
@TheNotedAnatomist 4 жыл бұрын
The patient does not need to feel the muscle to contract ... the movement itself (pushing against the wall) sets in motion tension on tendons and ligaments, which ultimately recruits the serratus anterior muscle to contract.
