Here are extended highlights from a great day organised by Scarborough Council to celebrate the annual Armed Forces Day in England.
Aircraft displaying included the Eurofighter Typhoon, Hawker Hurricane, and Calidus Autogyro, but there were so many extra attractions on the ground.
These included classic vehicles and organs from the Scarborough Fair Collection, the famous Naval Warfare Battle simulation at Peasholme Park, and an array of Scandinavian marching bands, as well as the UK bands, and navy parades.
As well as all this is the usual attractions that Scarborough has to offer including the miniature railway, the speedboat and pleasure steamer boat trips, and of course the amusement arcades and shops, etc . . .
In 2020 Scarborough will be the national event for the UK Armed Forces celebrations, and should be bigger and better than ever . . . stay tuned!
