You know, if the Black Widow movie *is* going to be an origin story, this could definitely happen! Bucky trains Natasha in the comics and they end up together but then she loses her memory of the relationship. And considering how many times Bucky has been mind wiped in the films, it would make sense that neither of them remember each other from the past

0:29 I've always wondered what that line meant, until I did some research and eventually came across this vid. AG Disney if you remember in Civil War during the late 80s-early 90s Bucky was with the soviets. The murder of the starks happened late '91. going by this timeline, it's possible that Bucky trained young Natasha around that period. given how Bucky doesn't really age much due to all the re-freezing and re-thawing, and Nat has aged normally from her red room days (refer to her flashback we saw in Ultron), it sort of checks out.

@Notre Aira Based on San Diego Comic-Con interviews, footage Black Widow movie is about Budapest indeed past and present and it's set after the Civil War when Bucky was in Wakanda. Unless he's in the flashbacks, he's not in it. I hope he is like training Widows. As far as a love story goes, Natasha is having a romance of some kind with the character called Mason based on cast interview. He's a fixer, former SHIELD contact and has a complicated history with Natasha. I think if Bucky is in it will be as a trainer in the Red Room.

So that Mason guy is obviously someone important to the plot and her. You have to remember that her movie is largely happening after the Civil War when Bucky was in Wakanda. So, him being in her movie is questionable and honestly, at this point, there is little connection that would make for a believable romance.

The reason I hate what happened with the Disney/Scarlett lawsuit is with Scarlett banned from future Disney projects, there is no way for the Russo's to deliver on all those hints we were dropped about winterwidow. I think they were hoping that she could come back for some cameos, maybe adding to Bucky's story and fill in the blanks regarding their relationship but now that can't happen.

Technically speaking, both Bucky and Natasha were working for Russia at the time of their relationship. Bucky was on loan from Hydra to the Red Room & he trained the girls (women) in combat.

This ship became my otp in a matter of days this past week and I gotta say, I am so bitter that the MCU didn't go through with it! Bucky could use a good woman in his life and Nat's the obvious choice, given that she understands struggling to live with one's past.

Me too friend. I still hope that it can happen (of course if they bring Natasha back to life thing which I believe they have to do. Honestly I don't give a damn of how I'll take everything even the moment she just appears from nowhere just she comes back and gets couple with bucky). I'm really mad with this couple.
