Scarlett is a short film depicting the inner struggle of a girl who lost a leg to Ewing Sarcoma, a bone cancer that occurs in mostly children. Amputation takes as much of an emotional toll as a physical one - especially for a child. We believe in the power of entertainment media to empower children through storytelling and role models. Visibility in media offers these children hope and a sense of belonging at a critical time where they may feel isolated by their medical condition.
A short film based on a true story that inspired a foundation.

My best friend has cancer and she's starting chemo today... And I have to be strong for her but I'm so scared Wish her luck whoever reads this and stay hopeful if your going through anything bad in their lives. There is a light in all the darkness 💙 Update: the chemo hasn’t worked, but they’re going to operate on her to hopefully remove her tumour. Everything’s a bit uncertain at the moment, but thank you all for the kind messages :’) it means a lot ❤️

I saw a story about a girl with a leg tumor who had to get part of her leg amputated. They reattached her foot, backwards, in place of her knee. She wears a prosthetic and is able to dance on pointe shoes. This reminded me of her.

5 years ago as a child I found this animated short and started listening to the song.... as things happen time went on I forgot about it.... Today suddenly thought about it now 5yrs later as an adult I'm seeing it it gave me goosebumps throughout the whole song....Yet has the same magic to it....Such a motivational video such motivational song! Beautiful!

My aunt fought cancer for a decade, but we loss her last year. Though it was devastating and painful, we had to let her go and let her feel no more pain. We miss her everyday. She's one of the reason why I see life as a beautiful gift and why I try my best to cherish every moment with the important people in my life! She was a living testimony!

I had cancer, well I still do. I remember I first went to the hospital and they said I had cancer, I was so upset I cried and cried, till someone in the room next to me at the hospital told me something heartwarming. He told me “don’t give up, just because you have cancer doesn’t mean your not pretty, you can’t do anything, you can’t believe, and be happy, you should be happy to who you are, no one can tell you otherwise.” And after that I felt better at myself, I spent almost 2 years in hospital with cancer and every single time I went to chemo or took medicine I thought of him, he had told me he had bad blood cells in his leg, which meant I think he had to have it amputated. I never forgot him or his words and every time I felt bad I kept believing. Now I’m almost cancer free! But still have 6 months of chemo left, my heart was warm and felt better just for his kind words

I lost my fav uncle to cancer.. he used to be such a strong man, a boxing teacher and also just a very strong man, without any fear. At the end of his long journey full of suffering, he couldnt even lift his head anymore. He left in peace, in his sleep, but I miss him still..

WeirdoChelsey Thank You! This video gave me Hope during that time when I had pneumonia. It's one of the worst infections out there!! I was non-stop coughing up fluid 24/7 throwing up, couldn't taste food, dizzy, couldn't breath, or talk at times, coughing up blood, nose bleeds, stomach problems, bowel problems, I was bleeding a lot from my vagina, couldn't even lay down because it made me cough more and I couldn't sleep because of that, as well I couldn't even drink water or other drinks with out throwing up, I was also hallucinating!! which was crazy. I had to go to the hospital multiple times and get antibiotics because both of my lungs were fluid. It was one of the darkest times in my life when I though I wouldn't live, But I thank God It's finally Over!!! This video is really inspirational though ✌️

My friend started coughing up blood the other day, but I told her that life isn't long enough to only have problems. So one day I decided to stay at the hospital at night, when it was around 1:00am, she woke me up.. By slightly grabbing my hand. She was coughing more and more blood, and her chest was covered in chunky-type blood. I told her I'll go get the nurse, which is what I did.. Uh- The nurse followed me.. but.. my friend (her name WAS Amella) looked up at me, and said to me very slowly "Sienna, one day you'll be commenting or telling some stranger about me.. But- Remind them.." she was coughing blood as she spoke, so it was hard to understand. The nurses and doctors told me to go outside, and I heard her crying. I heard her say a few words. The doctor came out crying in grief. "Your friend, Amella.. she told me to tell you that: 'life isn't long enough to only have problems'.." he told me, walking down with her dead; on the bed. I began to cry, and ran down to the bus station as fast as I could to catch a bus home straight away.. My mom understood, and took care of me after all the tragedy. The doctor was the last to ever say her name... I love you, Amella. R.I.P. Best friends, we were cx I'm sorry it wasn't too detailed, but t was at-least 3 years ago, so this was as much as I could remember.

I knew someone who had cancer he went to school for pretty often in the beginning and was fine... But he stopped going to school and only went to school about once a week but all the times he was absent he would be excused so u knew he must be sick or something... One day he came to school with his parents and was visiting. I was absent that day my teacher told me he visited. I wondered why he didn't just come to school. The day after he visited he died of cancer and I never got to say goodbye. He was my best friend... But he would never tell me why he missed school so much. *That made me think of how lucky I was to have had a normal, healthy childhood with no dangerous diseases to mentally or physically cripple me, plenty of food on the table, roof on my head, clothes on my back, not living in a some warzone, plenty of love from friends and family, etc... Usually I didn't use to cry when watching, reading or listening something sad, but now I do. This music makes me feel sad, but at the same time reminds me about the strength I have which can help me keep on going. I'm absolutely healthy, but healthy people also need a reminder that everything will be okay soon. This song can heal and motivate to deal with the life difficulties. Thanks for the music 🌸

This means so much to me, when I was 12 when I was dancing I dislocated my hip and it cut my cartilage. I stoped taking dance classes for a long time because everyone told me I would never become the dancer I wanted to be and that I would have to do physical therapy for the rest of my life. A little while later i was dancing again because it's my passion and no injury should ever stop you from doing what you love ❤️ good luck to rest of you

My Grandpa has cancer right now. He had surgery and we thought all the cancer was removed but now he has to have immunotherapy because nothing’s working. He used to be so strong and a person I looked up to. He taught me piano and he loved teaching but now he’s had to stop. He’s so frail and weak now it breaks my heart.

Youngest sister, thanks to GOD ALMIGHTY, my sister age 44, female cancer, a shock to us, caught in time. Surgery completed. My whole family on both sides wiped out by cancer, all different kinds. That is my WHY for becoming a nurse, 29 years ago, still practicing. 🙏❤️

I am sorry for your loss. It's horrible. My mom died from cancer too. Time makes it better, but I have found that remembering her, even though it is sad, has made all the difference. Everything she has taught you and all the memories you have of her will live on with you. She's never really gone as you have past experience with her and if she is your biological mother then half of you is her. I hope you are feeling even the slightest bit better now and don't forget that friends and family can help you through this rough time too. Maybe not even with talking through feelings but just being around and having fun with people you love. Sorry for the super long paragraph. Anyway, I hope you have a nice day!

I remember the first time i watched this i had never really seen anyone with missing limbs, so when i saw she had an amputated leg i was really shocked and disturbed. But i still watched it and understood the symbolism with the blue dot and the red lines. After watching it i still felt unsettled though.. Now that im older i really appreciate this video and thd message. But based on my experience with this video i really think we should teach children about these topics, and teach them not to be scared like i was.

To Jodie she didn't think that having a prosthetic leg isn't really a big deal she doesn't have cancer but was born with a disability that made her leg different.
