Scarlette the Red Fox with her Ice Treat

Scarlette, a red fox ambassador at Wolf Park, is often very vocal. In this case, she's vocalizing while licking an ice treat (block of ice with a treat inside) to keep cool during the summer heat!

Sporotrichosis (also known as “rose gardener's disease”) is an infection caused by a fungus called Sporothrix. This fungus lives throughout the world in soil and on plant matter such as sphagnum moss, rose bushes, and hay. People get sporotrichosis by coming in contact with the fungal spores in the environment. Cats contract it and die from it. Wear gloves when gardening. Dogs and foxes die from it.
