Hey guys I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. If anyone tells you that Jesus isn’t the only way, they are lying to you and they don’t care about your future. Thx for reading.

Gave me a reminder of stories I heard from the old school guys about folk they’d wish I got to meet. Larger than life people who through sheer personality gravitas and conviction coupled with skills both natural and refined were able to keep the wolves from the door and make the pups walk the line even if they tried their best to get off it. Coach a gestalt of so much of what a society can never condone and always needs and craves. I get flash backs to tales about “the one man riot squad” I had a old timer from new York shared with me as well as few other men I can only vaguely recall.

Every performance in this movie was amazing, and (granted I'm not a big movie buff) I can't think of another movie with such strong performances from every cast member. Only comparison in my mind is reservoir dogs. Bottom line, I didn't know Hugh Grant had this range, I had never been introduced to Charlie Hunnam and he instantly became a favorite of mine for this performance. Reservoir Dogs is one of my favorite movies due to the play/theater style. I compare this movie to it because it's set in the same fashion, but The Gentlemen does in a much more spectacular and nuanced fashion. I think I saw Quarintino get Quarintinoe'd
@jacobmanning72624 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention Collin Farrell lol. I have always enjoyed the hell out of him but this performance was something else. Colin Farrell quite possibly had the best character in the movie, and played it to perfection(not to diminish the performance of the rest of the cast, by any means.) He's so good at playing the badass who isn't trying to be a badass and would really rather be the title performer on a comedy tour but has to be what he is, so he tries to be it with class and humor.

@@freddybeer Same here... Toby Kebbel has some serious acting chops, but ever since he started doing films in the us, he just wasn’t appreciated or given a real chance. What’s his best role other than rocknrolla... fucking Koba from planet of the apes!? Foh I think that the main reason that we never got that sequel is because of the paths that Gerard Butler and Tom Hardy’s careers took. Hopefully, now that Butlers career has sort of plateaued and Hardy is willing to do not just blockbuster movies, but also independent and television roles too, we may, eventually get some sort of a sequel, but I’m not holding my breath. Also of note is the career path that Guy Ritchie took is a major reason hat he never fully pushed for the sequel. He went from smaller independent films like Lock Stock to doing Sherlock Holmes with a revamped Robert Downey Jr. (at that time, he was in the Iron Man / Avengers films). Again, now that Ritchie has gone back to his roots to a degree with his film (think of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels with a more “mainstream” style and a bigger budget), he may be more likely now to go back and push for a RocknRolla sequel. Again though, I’m not holding my breath on it. Only time will tell

Fun fact, this is Colin Farrell just trying to order some food and being accosted by 4 rapscallions. He had no idea the cameras were rolling.

What I really like on the first scene: The woman behind the counter is pissing herself; all smiling. Not sure how many takes it took, but the fact that Guy left it in, is like a subtile message that... don't mess with this Coach.

That first scene is so great. The dismissive way he turns his back on the kids at first after he chides them is so good. He has no respect for them at all, regardless of how tough they’re acting.

Just when I thought Guy couldn't recapture that magic...holy shit what a fkn movie. I literally watched it twice in a row. Lock stock. Snatch two of the best movies of all time. This one ranks in my top now. One of the best filmmakers ever.

The most enjoyment for me is that, even though their misdirected, Coach still sees potential in these troublemakers as their attempting to rile him. There's no getting out of the life of a mentor. When you're in your in.
