Family drinks chaga daily. So many serious health issues have corrected. I am a real Believer in herbs for ourselves and our pets. Our dogs shouldn't die at 10 or 12 years old. Anyway, thats my feeling.

Very helpful thank you. I'm hitting the books now to find out what the other substance is that Berberine needs to become an antibiotic. I keep berberine around , use it everyday to help keep my insulin levels under control. It would be nice to know how I could tweak it into an antibiotic if needed. 2 Old people from Texas

I routinely add chaga tea to my dogs and my birds water. I have done this for years. They crave the water and actually drink alot. They are 11 years old and you would not know they aren't puppies. One chihuahua had damaged trachea as a pup and honked all the time. That has corrected and not reoccured for a few years.

I've been Mortified of Kennel Cough after a Vet gave it to my Pug. The nasal application. Hours later "of course in the middle of the night" having a hard time breathing. (We had just moved to Tampa, staying in temp. lodging, knew nothing of the area. By Morning her lungs were filled with fluid and literally drowning. The Vet said, There is absolutely No Way she was affected by Kennel cough. Five days in the hospital, she said the Only way we'll know for sure is to Send samples off to a lab in New Jersey. $700- My husband said do it. Loyal and Behold it was from the Vaccine. That little Girl was our life. She passed a couple of years ago at 19. I definitely do not think Kennel cough meds are bad. It was just bad for our little flat nose baby.

Thanks for this! I've been in the wilderness, and only heard about this virus two days ago! It's time to start re-stocking my apothecary with jars of winter wellness. In your experience, Doc, do super athletic/working dogs tend to have a stronger immune system than couch potato/urban dogs? My dog has been allowed to run off-leash in the desert for several hours a day. I'm hoping that kind of fitness level will carry over while we winter in a suburban environment.

I cannot adequately express my respect & gratitude for your devotion to the health of your fellow creatures & humans. As a retired MD of the "old country doc" variety, not fooled by recent departures from the medical ethic, my appreciation is honest. I sincerely wish I had your naturopathic knowledge! I have used a few herbs with my patients thru the years as I became familiar with those few, & always meant to learn more. However, as pressures of time weighed down, never learned as much as I wanted. A huge regret now at 78. Now I learn as much as I can from your podcasts & from studying individual herbs. We must return to nature! Thank you, Dr Jones!

Thanks for this info. My little 12 yr old dog has this mystery syndrome. Just finished a round of antibiotics and the Vet told me to give her Zyrtec , which didn't help. She might be a bit better but sneezes violently when we go outside for bathroom breaks. She isn't exposed to other dogs but I do have squirrels in my yard. A few weeks ago she found a dead Squirrel and was chomping on it and she seemed to get sick after that. I just ordered your immunity formula for dogs. I hope that will knock this virus out of her.

Thank you so much. I have really started to appreciate everything you teach. I'm still a beginner in using herbs. I still don't know which herbs are safe for cats and dogs, or are the same as for humans? And you mentioned (maybe that was in your blog) that tinctures are fine, too. I always assumed that alcohol would be rather dangerous for cats and dogs

I saw another video mention chloramphencol. My hesitation is based on my limited knowledge of the drug that used to be standard treatment of typhoid (what I was told in East Africa when my son had it) but they no longer use it because of the extensive list of side effects. I would not want to start there. What do you know about it's use in dogs? This vet mentioned it was an old drug but I'm very curious about how safe it is. Perhaps as a last resort I'd consider it. I'd be looking at herbal support and treatment, and even homeopathy and then using strong drugs only if nothing else was working.

Thank you so much Doc Jones. I had heard about the success of that antibiotic on the news and felt hopeful, but that makes sense it probably isn't the cure. Can I give my dog elderberry syrup as the antiviral or should i just powder elderberries and mix with the dosing you suggest on your website?

The past two years we have dealt with this unknown virus. Our vets around here was throwing everything at it with minimal success. I don’t know of any dogs that died from it but it took a month or longer to get over it. Two of our personal dogs came down with it and what we did was put raw honey and some garlic in with their food and we would put them in the bathroom to breath in steam. That worked better than any thing the vets were doing. We asked questions of our customers and in every single case that we experienced here their school age kids were sick before the dogs and leads me to believe it’s the kids bringing this stuff home to the dogs.
@HomeGrownHerbalist7 ай бұрын
Most viruses are very host specific unless they mutate. I'd guess the kids had their own bugs from school. :0)
@dawgonefundaycareandboardi78137 ай бұрын
@@HomeGrownHerbalist I agree with host specific but the only dogs that came down with this mysterious virus came from homes who’s kids had brought a bug home from school. I’m not a scientist by any means but from our stand point of digging to figure out what it is and where did it come from every single dog had human siblings that were sick before them. We did our best to keep it out of our dog boarding facility.

I believe my dog just died from this mystery disease! He started with a mystery cough and fever which went into facial/snout swelling that also went into his chest...was on 3 different antibiotics, steroids, finally Lasix to decrease swelling and ease the respiratory distress...got better for 2 weeks...then went outside after breakfast and found him crying and completely paralized...he was a young dog under 2...guardian dog on my 10 acres...no exposure to other dogs...did have an encounter with a skunk prior to this whole mess..thinking that's where he was exposed.
@chisassinrollyoass22715 ай бұрын
Have you learned anything new about this bug? Our vet is now requiring our dogs to have the flu shots if we wanted them groomed. But NOT if we're in for just checkups. Doesn't make any sense to me but we do not want to put anything in our dogs if we can avoid it. I vividly remember doing something eerily similar just a few short years ago. And it didn't do any good then either.
