(4 x B1) should be equal to the equation of a1S1 + a2S2…..because we are adding four terms of aS each of which is equal to B1

Sir I have one confusion regarding to return loss. The question has given a S matrix[2x2] and asking for What is the return loss al the input? Do we show individual loss at input? or add total return loss? S11+S22?

Return loss at input port 1 is S11. Return loss at output port 2 is S22.

S11 are reflection coefficient and in dB it is return loss.
