I enjoyed the video I have a question. What's the point of turning it 45 degrees more to the left from where the blade can't reach?

Great question! This is something that we do here at SCC for our customer base. We find that adding the 45 degree angle gives us a little more variability with our grind size options as we delve into the coarser settings. To be clear, the manufacturer states that proper calibration is just off the "chirp".

@@joshuajamesSCC I have had the EK43 for half a year. Less than 100 kg of coffee ground. For some reason, it is impossible to brew espresso even at the minimum grind size - the extraction is too fast. It also feels like the grind under the filter has become coarser than it was before. Is it worth trying to calibrate, is calibration to the "chirp" really what the manufacturer originally intended?

@@igorvinograd7259 Many EK's, as great as they are, do tend to drift or slip over time. I would highly recommend recalibrating your grinder as often as every 3 months to ensure you are still just off chirp. Yes, the reps that I have talked to recommend this calibration process.
